It's not this thread but Lit generally. I've been around a while and when I first joined there were evenings I'd be crying with laughter. People move on, you make new friends. TBH I think the tetchy mood on Lit is a reflection of what is happening out there in the real world. As if stuff in the UK wasn't bad enough, we've got Ukraine, and all the BS with the upcoming US election. Everyone is feeling the pinch financially so that all feeds into the mood of posts.
But hey - we're Brits, famous for our sang froid, je ne sais quoi and black humour. The trick is not to assume the problem is YOU - it's just how shit is right now.
Flowers are busting out the ground and hedges have turned from grey to green. Snot all bad innit.

yup, even the AH is full of nastiness and snark - most everyone resents most everyone else there. Why be nice if you can kick someone eh?

This is very eloquently put… the world isn’t great at the moment, plus I’m dealing with very heavy life-changing stuff on multiple fronts, and I’m just not feeling playful…

So, right now, Lit is not the frivolous place it’s been for me, and it becomes all too easy to dwell on niggling little negativities.

It’s sometimes about recognising that’s just how it goes… and having faith that the fun will return.

But, yes, spring is helping! 🌸🌷💐🌺🌞🕶️

I've lost confidence and fear I'm not fun with my posts. IRL it takes a while for people to warm to me, my friends know I'm a rude dizzy bitch. People that don't, see me as a rude belligerent bitch. But after a while they know I have no malice or maleficent intent.

Using forums is probably not great for my style, I've never used them before lit.

I was playing on other threads and saw what others were writing, it's obvious it's about me.

Totally! I've made a vow to throw away something from our shed every time I go in there. We've so much crap and don't have a log burner now either!

I have a very weird sense of humour, quite morbid and dark at times (most times, to be honest), so maybe i get yours @Yesok1

I am pretty sure a lot of people think my posts are strange, not getting the joke, thinking it's mean in a mean way. I am quite new to the forums too and it is easy to misread posts, not get the humour.

there are some idiots here, that is sure. Some huge egos too, especially in some other threads.

We moved to a rental recently and threw everything we couldn't bear to part with into the 4x6 cardboard box of a shed. I mean... offcuts of fence posts that might be fuel if we had a fireplace, lengths of bubblewrap, a petrol can when we have a diesel car.
I know we'll prob regret throwing some things, but playing whackamole with the shed door is daft.
 
Funnily enough I had the honour during my younger days of being a young ladies first. It would have happened two weeks earlier in Magaluf but I advised her against it as at the time she wanted to have sex just so she could say that she'd done it. Two weeks later in Dublin I had one of the most precious times in my life when we made love because we both wanted each other.
