Sorry MissK….I feel your pain. Replaced the whole unit three years ago, then had a bad part and it went out one year later! Under warranty but still, had two days of 85+ heat to deal with.

Wish was chilly here. My ac isn't working

I grew up in a house w/o A/C. On the worst nights, I would sleep with my ankles on a bag of frozen peas or corn. Tossed them in the morning but they did the job.

I'm heat sensitive now so have a few cooling towels. I keep one in my bag at all times now. They work pretty well. No substitute for A/C but can help keep things manageable.

I hope it cools off a bit for you soon!

The kids live in Tampa and so are Rays fans. Bucs, too. I just keep up with the AL East, kind of. MLB isn't really for me. Been to 1 game ever. Don't like crowds. I keep up with football by computer. I watched the AFC championship game last season as my 1 game watched.


But I'm kinda looking at the cattle auction, so there's that.

We're Seahawks fans and watch most games.

I don't mind them at all, but the problem is that it sends my dog into a state of near nervous collapse. All we can then is to put him in the car, it seems to be the only place he feels safe.

Still got a bit of pain in my jaw, but except for a jolt as the Novocaine wore off and before the Ibu kicked in, it's not too bad.


This is the M1 carbine whose stock I refinished last month. It got a thorough cleaning and lubing, and it was test-fired. It's ready. I'd like another.

Went to the nashville zoo yesterday (visiting relatives i guess) had a blast till the traffic on the way home. Today's agenda will be delivering a medical bed and supplies used during my wife's illness to a lady in Paducah who's husband is hopefully coming home soon after brain surgery and stuff.

Here is the sorta-finished Juniper Bonsai. Notice how the Shari has already turned white? Pretty excited about that as I was led to believe it would take some time! Eventually I’d like to Jin the two knobs that were limbs I pruned years ago. This fall this thing should look close to what I can envision for it. Now just need to train the long limb and prune the dome to shape.

This is a Kengai (cascade style) shape. It represents a tree on a windswept rocky hillside.

I love all the different manufacturers who made firearms during the second world war. I have a Smith Corona (the typewriter company) M1903 from 1942.

A friend of mine had a rare Massey Ferguson (I think) M1 Garand.
