talk about boring ... I had a "clean out the refrigerator" salad, bananas & caramel dessert, and then, a couple of hours later and hungry, a cup of frozen pineapple.

do you have anything planned for Saturday or Sunday?
I love frozen fruit.... it is like eating sherbert when you sprinkle with a little sugar and smash
 
Yeah. The local.restaurant put out their new menu and they added 2 sandwiches and home cut fries and increased prices for everything by 30 percent. I love spaghetti but never get it out because mine is so much better.... salmon sounds good....


Let's talk s'ghetti sometime soon. Mine seems to have lost its zip, or my palate has become more discerning.

Ok... I find that most sauces are too sweet and lack meat..... I will be dammed if I pay 14$ for 2 oz hamburger and sweet tomato soup with spaghetti noodles and a piece of soggy garlic bread...... I will bring up the spaghetti topic soon.... enjoy your reading....
 
I need to clean out the freezer tomorrow. I have a 1/2 beef coming in a couple weeks. I have some chicken and pork I need to cook. It is hard to cook for one
Years ago, I read a book Supper of the Lamb ... an odd combo of theology and cooking. "The centerpiece recipe, lamb for 8 served 4 times, is found tucked away in bits and pieces throughout the entire narrative."

The one idea I took away and have kept practicing was to consider how to cook a meal in such a way that the elements are available for further meals. When cooking for one, I often try to use some basic ingredients to make 3 or 4 different meals, then refrigerate or freeze for other days.

Yeah I do that too.... I have a couple packs if chicken things. I am going to cook them all and do a chicken mushroom something and some chicken salad and maybe this tomatoes chicken braise I do. Will get me several meals ready. Maybe I will share a bit with the neighbors. I have some pork medallions too.... so maybe I will BBQ some for sandwiches?

Italian salad and spaghetti with meat sauce. It has been awhile since I ate there but it felt like everything was suffering from Shrinkflation. And our favorite waitress quit last year to go into her real career since she had finished school, so who could blame her?

I'm like you! I never order anything when out that I can make at home. My spaghetti is the bomb! 😋
