My dad worked 2nd shift when I was born. Mom would keep me up until he got home from work so we could have some awake time together. And everyone wonders why I was a night owl.

LOL!!! Amazing. I have a 2015 truck that's fixin'ta turn 100K this week. It's barely broken in in my book, but then there's that old black car that's 78 years old and has 51K on it. Of course, that low mileage is why it's still around, too. I know where one like it is for sale with under 30K on it.


Mom (91) just took her car in to get the state inspection this last week. She drove a whopping 900 miles since the last one last year.





Yes, we do, and no, this isn't. I visit here because you lot are civil. And pleasant. And because there are nice hors d'oeuvres.

I'm probably like your mom! A little old lady who doesn't drive that much! My last job, before I retired, required me to drive nearly an hour each way. I have to do all the driving. I mostly don't like it. I so love when I'm with someone who wants to drive!

I also have a 2009 truck with about 25K miles on it. I bought it for my H for his birthday that year. I told him to get everything he wanted on it. Well, he was diagnosed legally blind in December of that year. I was mostly driving my car but I now alternate driving both vehicles.

Thank the gods it is not. However, the tiny four-legged goddesses-n-gods here don't always make it easy for the human to sleep in. However, they do allow naps, so we have peace and equilibrium. That way, I don't need the other librium.

One thing I'm really lucky about is mine will stay in bed with me as long as I'm there. Provided, however, that H isn't up making food. Then all bets are off! She wants off the bed to eat his food then gets put back in with me when all hope of food is over.

Work schedule keeps me on early mornings as a rule. I’m the same. Can’t sleep in now to save my life! Went to bed at 0130 up by 0630…oh well, almost made it to 6 hrs!

A beautiful day and took a 1.4 mile walk. It is supposed to reach 75F today.

It's still in the 50s here for us and near freezing at night. I don't want to plant my baskets with the new starts yet. There was frost on the ground this morning.

same but may need to shift to smaller shops 2-3x a week instead. finding I do better with slightly under-ripe fruit and very fresh veg. once weekly isn't fresh enough anymore.
wish I lived in a walkable neighborhood with lots of small bodegas with fresh options.

Same, girl! I have to drive everywhere. If I forget something, it's likely to have to wait until the next time I'm out. Once I get home, I generally am not going out again.

I’m exhausted.

Got all of the demo done for our back steps/small deck. But the guy who was gonna frame it out for me couldn’t make it yesterday.

We had a huge branch of a maple tree break off and so I took it alart and will probably get a good 1/2 cord of firewood out of what’s left.

Today I saw my mom then my sister. When I got home I mowed the lawn at our house, then the farm yard. Just finished the building lawn my wife and I own. I was pretty much weed whacking in the dark!

That's a lot of work! I hope you got a chance to wind down.

Yes, twice, the traditional way where the old frame just gave out from my wife bouncing on me like I was one of those mechanical bull rides, other time was early on when we first met she had this cheap metal headboard with bars on it, and I was tied to them, and while she was teasing me I ended up bending them down(like I said, cheap) and one snapped. We threw it away and had a cookout a couple days later and her uncle is like "Hey, how did you break that?"

I knew he was being a ballbuster so I replied "Exactly how you think we did."
