Water, soap, scrubbing, nothing worked, even my extra exertions brought about by a sense of panic knowing I had to go to work soon didn’t help much

Try some kind of cleansing cream or oil. Raid your wife's cosmetic cleaners. Even olive oil or coconut oil will help.

Oh yes! I would not want to be up close to a tornado! we have had some angry winds, but nothing like that, not on my doorstep anyway!

We had frequent tornados in South Dakota. We once had twin tornadoes that took our playhouse from the back of the house and the basketball hoop from the front of the garage. Not any other damage, not even a shingle!

I'm just now hearing about the Israeli strike on World Central Kitchen humanitarian aid workers in Gaza. I am SO freaking ANGRY!! Israel is using US supplied weaponry that is capable of PRECISION strikes. This is INEXCUSABLE! Netanyahu's response is basically a shrug.
