❌Monthly Song Challenge: Archived🎵

As another competitor with 60 points, I would hate to win because you were disqualified for offering solace in a song title to a fellow Litster.

I have too strong a sense of fair play for such pettiness.

I’d much rather win because you fell hands first into a pile of rat traps and were physically unable to type your final day’s song submission.

I return the sentiment completely. Though I would rather your rat traps were rusty.

(I wasn't sure how many points you had, and I wasn't quite crazy enough to go count them...)

I'm fortunate, I don't have many people I miss. I might feel a certain hiraeth for a place or time in my life. However, most people who are out if it are gone for a reason.

Every year on my mom's birthday I would call her office and leave a voice-mail of me singing "Wendy" by the Association. It's a joyful little tune, but she hates that song for some reason, which brought me an extreme amount of hilarity. I've been doing this since I was 12.

Trolling loved ones with music has become a family tradition. So, I'll share this: a song my daughters troll me with. They're both in college and I miss them dearly. I love Latin music, save for banda. It's usually really sappy & on the edge of mariachi in sound (my 2nd least fave Latin music)

Day 25: A song for someone you miss

I only saw my grandparents wedding photos a few years back as they'd divorced long before I was born so imagine my surprise to see that my grandpa looked like Frank Sinatra when he was young. This song always reminded me of him anyway. He was far from perfect, but he was more like a father to me and I never doubted how much he loved his family. I still miss him every day.

Day 25: A song for someone you miss
Maybe more like someone I hurt, and definitely miss. I moved in with my first love and I was way too young, we had 3 wonderful years together and moved in together on the last. I wasn’t ready, I know that now. We had got the tickets to see Pink Floyd before I made the decision to go, watching this song together was really hard.. we made love the last time that night and I’m sorry for the pain I caused.

She wrote a letter when I was born, which I posted a snippet of, for me to read when I got older. She was with me for everything.
This is so beautiful. The handwriting reminds me of my grandmother’s. “My darling little granddaughter” 😭
Right in the feels.
Thank you for sharing 💜
my aunt, died of cancer in december
I’m sorry for your loss 💛
Day 25: A song for someone you miss

I love this song so much.
I hope that wherever he is, he got to relive his childhood; one filled with love, tenderness, and care.
This is such a powerful, compassionate sentiment. Thank you for sharing 💜
The lyrics get me right in the feels.
Yep. Yep. All the feels 😭
I’m sorry you had to lose your dad in that way. It’s so painful to lose them before they are gone. 💛
all I can do is embrace the woman I am now and try to find a way to keep moving forward
You should be so proud of yourself for moving forward. With time and care you will continue to bloom and grow. I hope you can fall in love with the new version of yourself, and the many future versions of yourself that are to come. 💜

Day 25: A song for someone(s) you miss

I'm currently gallivanting around the world sans kids and I'm definitely missing those delightful crotch goblins.

This is the song I would sing to them each night when they were babies and it goes out to both of them.

Mum will be home soon.
Promise!

Your Song - Elton John
