Will you vote for Trump?

I think it’s a well deserved movement. IMO It has swung too far in ideology but it was a necessary correction to the unchecked power that police departments had over people of color.

Any other questions?

I voted for Biden last election, sat out the election before because I find Hillary Clinton’s tactics despicable and I found Trump to be a meme more than an actual candidate. Prior to that I voted for Obama both times and for Bush prior to that because again Gore and Kerry were suck dolls for their respective lobbies.

So no. Not close. The fact that you “suspect” my political ideologies gives me license to think you’ve begun to think you have the right to tell others what is right for them.
Since you voted for Biden four years ago, why aren't you supporting him now? If you acknowledge that a 2nd Trump Presidency would be disastrous for the country, why aren't you trying to stop it?

Ahhh a good question from you for once - To be clear, I don’t acknowledge JUST that Trump would be disastrous. I think that Biden would be disastrous as well.

My reasons?

1. The “migrant” crisis - or more accurately the illegal immigrants who learn how to spell and check “asylum” after they enter through the huge hole in the CA/Mx border. Both candidates are simply just repeating whatever they need to get the most votes. Meanwhile - every major city is flooded with people from all over the work who are being “politically persecuted” - yeah right!!!

2. The blind spending of billions in Ukraine and Israel when entire cities in America are shitting themselves solid brown with homelessness and rampant open criminal activity. Trump is about as flaky on this as Biden so this is a push.

3. The absolute lack of intelligence in either party on furthering the economy. Both have chosen to shit on each other instead of actually provide a solution for the economic and geopolitical challenges the US will face over the next 10 years. NO, instead we get to hear them recite FOX and CNN/MSNBC talking points over each other. Again - a race to absolute incompetence.

Feel free to Pooh Pooh my reasons. I can guarantee you there are a few million who see it similarly.

1. The "migrant crisis" is a conservative myth.
2. Conservatives never spend money on cities. They oppose foreign aid to Ukraine, not because they want to spend it here, but because the GOP is dependent on Russian funding.
3. The economy is growing steadily under Biden.

All your reasons for opposing Biden are GOP talking points.

Yes. I will vote for Trump if the choice in November comes down to Biden or Trump (which looks inevitable barring a senior citizen health problem or some black swan event). Not happy with the choices though.

Horseshit. You love your god. 😘

The border’s been a problem for a long time. Biden got a bipartisan bill through for a vote until trump said no, no, no. Then repubs found problems with it so THEY own the border insecurity just in time for election season

Blind? Russia is a US enemy. Send money.

Meanwhile, yes some cities have significant problems. But how on earth can we have states do their thing for cities when per roe v goodbye when there’s a national abortion ban on the horizon?

Yes, there a lot of MAGATs

Find a third party candidate

Just one point - I am not a MAGAT or Ultra Conservative or a Dem Hater - I think for myself and look at these parties as choices at a buffet - not lifestyle I have to proclaim my loyalty to. I also think slapping a label like MAGA and conservative on anyone who wants to say something critical about the Dems is not really helping convince anyone to
Listen to your cause either.

Also - how does funding Ukraine help us against Russia? It’s like we don’t want to fight the bully in room so we pay a weaker opponent and silently clap our hands when the bully gets a black eye. I never understood that. We seem to have done this with North Korea and with Saudi Arabia also under the Biden admin.

Economically we are headed to a cliff when it comes to spending. The COVID handouts caused inflation of near 10% at its peak. And neither admin did anything of consequence to curb spending or inflation until it was nearly too late. AI will likely kill a significant percentage of jobs in the next 5 years and neither of these idiots knows AI from their PSA score.

Why? If he wants to vote for Trump - WHO ARE YOU to tell him he needs to pick a third party candidate. If he wants to hold his nose and vote for Biden or Trump that’s his prerogative.
A very refreshing viewpoint. Too many here will scream at, name call and insult others for not thinking or voting they way they want them to.

Civilized and intelligent people should be able to have conversations with those they strongly disagree, without going down that route.

Heck, that's the only reason I participate in this political forum. I'm surrounded by those who strongly disagree with me, though getting into actual rational and intelligent debate is very rare around here.

Echo chambers are boring and dangerous.

Fair enough

Perhaps I misread you. MAGA applies to the ultra loyal

No worries you don’t get it then. Maybe do some googling.

Cite?

Get out of your echo chamber and see what’s what with the economy

Porn is gonna take a hit for sure

I generally don't watch political speeches. Debates are tolerable. Sometimes I wait for the transcripts. But I have heard Trump's speaking explained: he wants to sound like not a politician, to get the votes of people disgusted by most politicians. When he seems far off topic, he's still on topic as "not a politician." That may be a harder sell now after a term in office, so that may explain the slurring or whatever he does now.

If the race is only Biden and Trump, then I would take a long look at the VP nominations. But we always have other options.

No please ask the permission and approval of the incredible policy winks in this room before you do!
In my brief and admittedly anecdotal experience here in America - when a person is as all over the spectrum as you describe yourself to be it is because they can, for general conversation, recognize the institutional problems of politics and privilege, but whether being of any race or gender, they benefit in some way from the existence and continuation of the system too much to actually want it reformed or gone.

Myself? I am keeping it simple for this upcoming election. I don’t support rapists. I don’t support a person facing substantial debt having access to sell our secrets so they may golf on my dime.

Go watch a Trump rally speech. One from the last 48 hours. Hell, even from the past month or so.

If the average person slurs their words, creates combinations for words, misnames people, forgets events and places etc then he fits right in with the average person - if they have dementia or alzheimer's that is.

Quit with the excuses and actually go watch the man "speak". Or STFU.

American meddling into foreign affairs and wars is ridiculous and needs to stop.

Awesome to see someone else here being aware of these major things happening in human society!

As I pointed out in my response, all your "independent" reasons for opposing Biden are GOP talking points, so despite your claims of thinking for yourself, I still stand by my original assessment. Whenever someone claims "both parties are the same" or "Trump and Biden are both awful" they always turn out to be a conservative pretending to be non-partisan in order to attack the Democrats.

That would be a waste of time if he dies before the election. He's really old and probably vaxed to the max. The shots have been causing all types of neurological damage. The shots could make him unable to speak. Late October would be a reasonable time to start noticing his speech or lack of it.

More excuses.

You're not being serious. Waste of time.
