Is Trump fit for a second term?

I think Donald Trump's cognitive abilities have declined to the point where I firmly believe his is unfit for office.

I am loathe to say anything positive about Nimrata "Nikki" Haley, but I believe it was a stroke of genius for her team to pass out the exact cognitive test that Trump claimed 98% of his supporters could not pass. It was so simplistic I honestly thing RightGuide could have passed it.

And that makes Trump a better choice, I gather, is your point. The politics is what it is. It will come down to Biden vs. Trump. Of the two I'd take my chances on Mr. Biden. At least, I know where he stands; if he falls he has a backup person. Trump spues stuff about dictatorship, massive deportation, abandoning allies, and more batshit crazy stuff. I'm not buying his brand of government that plans retributions against the justice system the day he allegedly gets fairly elected. And so far no one on Trump's shortlist of VPs is any less crazy than he is.

While I do think Trump is the better choice, that wasn’t the point Nate Silver is making. He’s saying that those who claim Trump is a serious threat to America can’t be taken seriously when they renominate, without any debate, an 81 year old incumbent who Americans overwhelming disapprove of and who overwhelming believe he is too old and in cognitive decline.

Nate Silver posted wise words of advice for the Anti-Trumanites on X this morning:

“You don't demonstrate your seriousness that Trump is an existential threat to democracy by going through the motions to renominate an 81-year-old with a 38% approval rating who 75% of voters think is too old without giving anyone a choice because that's just how things are done.”
Nate Silver is an accomplished election handicapper.
To properly "handicap" a horse race, though, you need a horse race.

The MSM wants a "neck-and-neck" story to hype the news.

The simple fact is that the Orange buffoon has a lock on 38-40% of the electorate and Independents are not going to turn out for Trump this election cycle.
Two percent fewer boomers in this election cycle.
Four percent more Gen-z voters
Trump. Is. Toast.

Deflection about the allegedly "stolen election" isn't PROOF either.

It's like you're desperate or something.
'Desperately' awaiting your proof that the election was 'stolen.'

Are you working on that with Rightguard?

Might start with checking on Truman's claim that it's illegal to register in multiple states or the LA Times article about that:

“I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states,” President Trump boomed on Twitter last week. [Dated 2023 article]

"But Trump’s social media decree missed a crucial fact: It’s not illegal to be registered to vote in multiple states. It is, however, a felony to cast ballots in more than one state — yet it rarely happens.

"Trump’s tweet storm about voter registration — and his unfounded claim that millions of illegal votes were cast for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in November — has cast a spotlight on voting procedures nationwide. That spotlight has revealed some ironies.

"Trump’s son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner, is registered in more than one state. The same is true for some of the president’s senior officials, including his pick to lead the Treasury Department, Steven Mnuchin, along with senior advisor Stephen K. Bannon and Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

"Even Gregg Phillips, creator of the app VoteStand — which helps Americans report perceived voter fraud — and who Trump has boasted is a guru on the issue, appears to be registered in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, according to the Associated Press."

So, HisArphy, would this help your case to support voter fraud? I'm just trying to help you out by contradicting the fact that there was no substantial fraud that affected the outcome. Please, give Rudy, a fellow lawyer [if he still has a license], and see if he has that list of tens of thousands of dead voters. His phone may not pick up since he owns some $10,000 in back phone bills. You might try his email services.

Then, as he has a lawsuit for non-payment against Truman for legal services, he may not want to give that list up.

rump was never qualified for a first term
Agreed, he's not even qualified to manage a supermarket, let alone a country. When I woke up after his first election I couldn't believe my ears and eyes. How could such a great country elect such a moron? We here in Europe have crazy polititians to (Orban), but nobody even coming close to this illiterate cretin. I hope he'll get convicted before November 24.

I'm STILL WAITING on your PROOF that Trump participated in an insurrection.

RE-deflecting to the 2020 election isn't helping you. Instead it's making you look like a bigger fucktard than you already do.

He crunches polling data. But you don’t need to be a statistician to know this race is a dead heat or that Biden’s approval numbers are historically low, or that large majorities of voters across the spectrum have serious concerns about his fitness for office. If the Democratic Party fielded a younger, respected governor or member of Congress, they’d be in a far better position to retain the WH.

Somehow even if Trump confessed to raping and murdering his wife, then live streamed it and uploaded it to Youtube, that wouldn't be enough to convince Icanhelp1 that Trump was guilty of raping and murdering his wife. He lives in his own delusional fantasy world, and thankfully enough intelligent, rational people can see through his bullshit.

Weighted polls aside, it's not "close" imho.

True, but if the Republicans did the same, the same would be true.

If it is another Trump vs Biden match up, Trump will lose. He doesn't hold a lead ( beyond the margin of error) in the polls based upon decided voters. Decided voters are self proclaiming they will vote. I suspect if it is TvsB,then we can expect another record turn out at the polls, and this time the down ballots may take a big hit over abortion. Also is America tired of being held hostage in the house by 20 or so memebers? Might be a few of those who also don't get returned....

True, Trump does, but Trump is leading a cult, and it doesn't matter to them. The problem is, the cult isn't the majority.

Roughly half of registered voters say they’re likely to vote for the leader of that cult, no doubt largely because Dem party leaders have doubled down on Joe Biden.

Kind of like last time. I am sure they will vote for Trump, just as I am sure Democrats will come out and hold their nose and vote Biden too. Which gives Biden about 6 million more votes. Will they be in the right states, hard to say. The pundits say Biden's path is through the Northeast this time, not the southern states.

BabyBoobs is part of that cult / minority, so…
Maybe, maybe not, if Trump is the nominee, he'll vote for Trump, if it is someone else, he'll vote for them (projecting yes but basing it on his posting history) He votes the party line. Many uneducated or poorly informed do the exact same, for both parties.

The cult is not the cult of Trump, it is the cult of racism, fascism, misogyny, bigotry, violence and hate. - And treason.

Ron DeSadist was BabyBoobs’ preferred candidate this cycle.

Is Ron DeSadist any better than Trump???

Naaaaaah.

It will not be 'if' they are the nominees; we are faced with two, Biden and Trump, choices barring one or both of them bowing out.

The current hot button is ageism as a significant factor. The following is a level-headed review of the subject matter relevant to the two candidates. It is based on medical reviews by doctors and published in the Open Journal of Political Science 2023.

Ageism's Factors Particularly on the Political Processes

Scroll down in the study to find the parts marked Political. Point Two: Ageism in Politics, then down, I believe. It lists some very salient data regarding people in service of the electors with ages and times in the legislative circles. It is noteworthy.

That is about as clear as looking into a goldfish bowl and counting the fish. Look to congratulate the one that is swimming at the end of the voting and flush the other down the toilet after he floats to the top, having made his last gasp.

Hopefully, prayerfully, if so inclined, America's choice is a man with morals who isn't crying fowl, crooked and rigged election, and stoking anarchy the first day in office. Hopefully, you get the feel of which one remains swimming in my mind.

Disclosure: This post was written by a nearly eighty-six-year-old. By all accounts, he is of reasonable and sound mind, according to his last doctor's reports and his attorney of record. [Not withstanding HisArphy's perceptions.]

Voters judge with their own eyes and ears

Voters judge with their own eyes and ears
That's comforting to know and should assure us they don't bring arms, more noose rope, zip ties, mace, and flag poles to the House during the next ballot certification.

Now, are they of sound mind and able to judge which is the better of the two?

I'll accept the outcome. Hopefully, it is one that spreads oil on the waters rather than diesel fuel to ignite more animosity among its people.
