It’s a lot! But as long as the kids are having fun we will keep with it!
My youngest is 22 now, and now she is coaching volleyball. She played volleyball and softball in club and all throughout high school… volleyball in college too.

And it’s nice to see her in a coaching role now.

But we have wonderful memories of all of the volleyball and baseball and softball tournaments with our children. a lot of time and money, but I sure feel it was worth it.

I loved coaching my son’s pee wee football team and his little league teams. He played in the same leagues on the same fields that I played on as a kid. He’s 35 now, chomping at the bit for their 1 year old boy to be old enough play sports.
Love that!!

I coached soccer and baseball for my son. Wasn’t easy but rewarding. Some of the kids (they’re all in their 20s) still call me coach! 😂

But it’s rewarding seeing a good thing passed down to the next generation.

Good God, I feel old now! 😀

My avatar was to be a taxi. I am my the personal taxi for my grandchildren. It helps my daughter for me to transport my autistic grandson. I recall all the soccer games I took both of my children to. It was worth all the effort.

Our 7 year old and 3 year old granddaughters do dance and gymnastics. The dance lessons are 5 days a week and we travel long distances to watch their recital competitions. My son and DIL not only juggle that with their full time jobs, they also have a 1 year old boy keeping them busy. In addition to the time factor, these activities are super expensive. Lessons are not cheap and the dance costumes are incredibly expensive. I now understand why they wanted my wife and I to move cross country to be close to them. Free babysitting and shuttle services, along with a fun house with a special cookie jar for the littles to visit and play, and a little financial help every now and then. They never ask for money but sometimes we chip in when we’re feeling flush.
They're lucky to have you to help! 🥰🥰

It is 5:30 am EST and way to early after a night of fighting sinuses. Sinus congestion makes for hacking and no good sleep. I am up and sipping my coffee while my old dog sleeps sinus free next to me on the couch. I wish you all a better day.

🤞🤞🤞 fingers crossed for ya. 🤞🤞🤞

Anyone shelve a musical instrument for years and pick it back up after your retirement?

I have a string instrument not touched in decades which I think about donating but I stop in fear that one day - when I retire - I will miss it....

I used play and teach drums and percussion. I wanted to pick it up but developed essential tremors. So that took care of that renewed dream. As did my hobby of photography.

You poor thing! Do you have a vaporizer? If so, try that. If not, try boiling some water in a pot. You can add some Vicks to the pot. Take the pot off the stove & hold your head a comfortable distance from the steam with a towel over your head. This should loosen the mucous and help it flow. If you have a neti pot, that's a good thing to use also.

It might be Covid. My wife and I have been very congested since early this week and a bit tired the last few days. We assumed we both had bad colds. Since we had some Covid test kits in the house we decided to use them before the shelf life date expires. We were really surprised they both came up positive. I’ve taken NyQuil before bed the last couple nights and it’s been very effective. The symptoms peaked on Thursday and have been getting better since then.
I'm so sorry you have Covid! Have you been vaccinated? If so, it may help to lessen the symptoms. 🫂🫂

I think I still have my flute I played in high school. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I doubt I will ever play it again. If I find it, I'll donate it!
