Welcome! This is a lively thread!Hi all⦠just found this board and it seems fun. 56 yo guy here.
Sheās home now. Doing better. Thanks so much for the well wishes!I'm so glad, Horatio! It's as hard for mommy as it is for baby when nursing can't happen. Is your DIL home or still in the hospital? Hugs all around!![]()
We have one in the garage.I still have mine. And in the master suite, den and office.
You think about it. Never dropped a call. Can't get a virus, and no one can copy or steal your personal information from it. Just give it a bug.
You don't use your garage for your vehicles? I park mine in the garage. It's supposed to be a two car, but it's a bit smallish. My truck goes in front first. My SUV gets backed in. Any passenger needs to get out before I park as there's only about 6 inches between the two. This will sound funny. I brought this place like 5 years ago. And I don't even remember the last time I went into the garage. It has a portico that's separates the space from garage to house. I park my vehicles side by side. I will have to check mine. Thanks for saying that.
IKR?!?I walk into the attached garage and get into a warm car every winter morning. Decadent? Absolutely.
Me too. Bought my first car in my late 20ās and been happily without one for about 18 months.I ride my bicycle everywhere.
I am sorry. How can they mess up a pizza? I assume you went out or it was delivered by a pizzeria.I just had the most awful dinner.... it was pizza but it was flavorless.... literally no flavor. Yuck yuck yuck.....
I make my own. It's so easy and much better than takeout!I just had the most awful dinner.... it was pizza but it was flavorless.... literally no flavor. Yuck yuck yuck.....
Do you make your own dough?I make my own. It's so easy and much better than takeout!
You never said but I am assuming your wife is fine. I get the going back to work to get some peace. What a weekend⦠so at 61, Iām still dealing with kids because of starting a family later in life, and on Saturday we had a combined birthday party for my two youngest (one turned 8 late last month, the other turns 9 in a few weeks), it was decided to serve spaghetti (but I couldnāt get a head count ahead of time of course), and I had to make sure there was sauce with no meat because my sister and brother in law are now vegan, plus my wife promised that there would be spaghetti noodles, plus zoodles (zucchini noodles) and broccoli as low carb options for people. Itās been a while since I made zoodles, so I looked for my Vegetti to cut the zoodles with but of course itās gone, so I used my mandoline to cut the zoodles. Zoodles canāt be boiled because they retain too much moisture so I bake them in the oven at 350 for a half hour or so on a layer of paper towels. I didnāt have time to make a homemade cake, so I bought one instead.
So the party started at 4, and we had to be done by 6 because we had to bring the little ones to friends so my wife and I could have a date night.
For Christmas, since my wife keeps saying she doesnāt want stuff, she wants experiences, I got tickets for us to see Colin Mocari (sp?) and Brad Sherwood performing an improv show that was originally titled āScarled Scriptlessā but was called a different name when we got there.
Parking was crazy until I remembered a parking garage a block down that I parked in, and we got to the theater and found our seats. Now, my wife has diabetes and her sensor warned her that her blood sugar was way too high, so we got some water for her to drink and she set her pump to give her more insulin.
The show started, and it was hilarious, but not long after it returned from intermission, we discovered my wifeās infusion site wasnāt delivering her insulin, and her blood sugar was still off the charts. Then she either passed out or fell asleep, so I got her awake and we had to leave before the end of the show (I hated to miss the rest of it, this was a lot of money to spend), and then I helped keep her steady as we went back to the van.
Once she was inside, she was asleep/passed out again before getting her seatbelt on, so as I raced home, every time I turned right I had to hold her up. I also called my teenage daughter at home to get everything out so I could get everything redone for insulin as soon as we got home.
Got home, helped her in, prepared a new insulin cartridge and installed it in her pump as she installed a new infusion site, and once I was satisfied she was getting insulin, I left to pick up the younger kids and get them home and to bed.
It was after midnight before we got to bed, and one of the younger kids had their ass out of bed before eight!
Today I had to go to the store again (I had gone there Saturday morning already) to buy all the things nobody remembered we needed until after the first trip, then we went to this animal experience place because they had baby capybaras as well as a one year old kangaroo, then home to have leftover spaghetti for dinnerā¦
Damn Iām ready to go back to work tomorrow!
I HATE when that happens....ESPECIALLY with pizza! There is NO cause for that!I just had the most awful dinner.... it was pizza but it was flavorless.... literally no flavor. Yuck yuck yuck.....
I do. My favorite recipe is an overnight dough.Do you make your own dough?
I bake it in my cast iron pan. It's so good. I love experimenting with different toppings. That sounds delightful![]()
