Day 23: A song you think everyone should listen to
Frank Turner - If Ever I Stray

Day 24: A song by a band you wish were still together
The Waterboys - The Whole of the Moon

Day 25: A song you like from an artist no longer living
Miles Davis - Freddie Freeloader

Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love
Imogen Heap - Entanglement

Day 27: A song that breaks your heart
This song chokes me up every single time!! Song is about a terrible custody battle in which lead singer was prevented from seeing his daughter while he was dealing with his inner demons. The beautiful thing is that he has turned his life around and now has full custody (I think) of his daughter and they have such an incredible bond.

Posting original video and the live version, because live is so so good.

Day 27: A song that breaks your heart
Anyone up for a sad story?
About 5 and a half years ago, one of my best friends died of an overdose. She was such a light in my life during some of the darkest times and I hope I was to her, too.
One of the things we had connected with initially was music. She had such a passion for good music and we spent many days and nights just driving around, listening to music until we felt better. Thatโ€™s where I still feel the most connected to her. In my car, listening to music.
This Noah Kahan album, Stick Season, has been my album of the year. Iโ€™m obsessed with it. Every track. A couple months ago he put out a deluxe version with some new tracks. I went out for a drive to listen to it and ended up thinking about her and how much she would have liked it. Right as Iโ€™m thinking about her, this song comes on. Hearing it for the first time broke my heart right open. Like- ugly cry, have to pull the car over, sobbing.

If youโ€™re reading this and struggling with something yourself, please know my inbox is always open for a friendly ear. Youโ€™re not alone, even when it feels like you are.
Donโ€™t let this darkness fool you.

Day 27: A song that breaks your heart

Maybe the volatile intensity and genuine strangeness keeps this from being classically heartbreaking... but with feelings of personal loneliness, societal emptiness, and inescapable mortality... it's close. One of my favourite underrated 'great' bands...

Roxy Music - In Every Dream Home a Heartache

Thank you, loves! Iโ€™d like to foster an environment where people can share their connections to music, the whole range of emotions. This thread has a great group of people and Iโ€™m really enjoying it.
