Wat's Guns-N-Stuff Thread

I've been down this road with you before, but I did find this podcast/article which may help you understand...

An interesting point:

Because the civilian application of a firearm for self-defense falls quite exclusively into situations requiring what are called point weapons, firearms designed to deliver purposeful, precise, and controlled gunfire, there is an established tradition in American law that civilians do not have a protected right by nature of the second amendment for area weapons and mass casualty devices. This allows us to classify, based on existing law, Light Machine Guns, Assault Rifles, and Submachine Guns as military-grade weapons (legally, they are classified as machine guns). This also allows us, generally, to classify a semi-automatic weapon modified in some way to simulate or approach full-auto fire as a “military-grade weapon"
Over all, an interesting article.

Also there is our previous conversation on this, specifically around the AR-15.

But you are just being disingenuous, you don't give a shit, it's just an act asking coati, one I have seen from you time and again.

*chuckles* and I'm no anti gun person either, so take that and shove it as far up your asshole as is comfortable.
Yawn...I quit caring what you think or post weeks ago. Exactly why you seldom get a reply from me. Keep blathering.

Yeah, I know some people like that. ^^^^^ They have their paperwork in order, all legal and such.

I'm getting a kick out of some of the people posting here, tilting at windmills they are. They're losing their asses in the courts so they're reduced to Alinskyisms. To get what they want they are going to have to either shit can, or severely amend, the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th amendments to the Constitution. I don't see any of that happening at anytime in the foreseeable future.

So tilt away, tilt away. :)

Dragunov SVD Russian Designated Marksman/Sniper Rifle. It is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for the Russian 7.62x54mm round and has a 10 round detachable box magazine.

Quite possibly the biggest gun buying mistake I ever made was about 20 years ago my local gun store in Wisconsin had one for $700 complete with a scope. I couldn't get myself to pull the trigger and buy it. Now I just shake my head at the stupidity of it all.

I think it would have been a disappointment. It's not really the right round for anything accurate long-range. (Granted, you did not specifically say long-range shooting which is the type of shooting I love). While the accuracy of semi-auto has come a long ways, for dead-on-accuracy, I am kind of old-school-minded and like a bolt action rifle.

My Bergaria B-14 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and bolt action was only $850 in 2022, and while that was not with a scope granted, is a very accurate, long-range rifle perfect for taking out coyotes and woodchucks on the farm. It is very much like the rifle you had a picture of, with adjustable stock, cheek rest etc, with the most accurate barrel of any production rifle.

While the Creedmoor round is only accurate to about 3/4 of a mile, it is a very gratifying sound when you hear a two foot steel target ring at that distance after taking so many things into account like elevation, wind, rotation of the earth, etc.

It is interesting that the anti-gunners loathe my AR-15's, and when I had them, my Ak-47's, but in terms of lethality, my Bergara is probably my most dangerous rifle. The coyotes never hear the round that hits them, and do not even see or hear me I am so far away. With a five or ten round clip, just slide in another shell and go for another.

Neighbors, meanwhile, questioned whether the fatal police foot chase was necessary and lamented the tense relationship between residents and police officers who patrol the neighborhood seeking guns.

In an interview, Mike Davis, 28, asked why so many officers couldn’t arrest Jessup without killing him, and said police should stop engaging in foot pursuits just to get guns off the streets.

This kind of action speaks volumes about the LE state of "mind" over the issue, and it has been like this for decades.

Every person who entertains that point of view, in my experience now observing the course of the human condition over any years, is one mugging away from being an ardent supporter of police and general gun rights.

As pointed out to the point were it is a meaningless phrase, criminals do not give two shakes of a rats ass about gun laws yet the hue and cry is always to punish the law-abiding citizens as if that's going to solve the problem of criminals. We know how to mitigate that problem. Return to substantive incarceration and remove them from the vicinity of the law-abiding.

We have bent so far backwards in the goal of being fair and understanding to these newly-proclaimed victims that we have totally forgotten about the real victims and now treat them unfairly.

I try not to pay much attention to the peace and love types anymore.

I have guns because I want to have guns. There's no other reason and the Court has repeately affirmed my right to have guns. This Court will sit for the rest of my life, and after that I really don't care what happens. I'll be dead. The next generation can disarm the sheep if it so desires.

For now, they can just piss off.

Yes and you can sleep peacefully while a segment of the next generation keeps getting gunned down at school....

Cops are like dogs, they chase everything that moves and pee on anything that doesn't. And, just like dogs, they're necessary for the world to work like it should.

And, like dogs, they need their asses whipped from time to time to remind them who the fucking Alpha is.
^^^And the macho gun culture continues to pollute the social ecosystem with bravado of violence against law enforcement officials.

Every day, so-called "law abiding citizens" turn violent based on whatever has been bugging them. In the heat of the moment, they snap, and they now have the military hardware to snap in a very big way.

MAGAts are not the party of Law & Order, as proven by the actions on Jan 6. At last you're being open about it.

Nothing, animal or human, goes through life without getting their ass handed to them at least once.

The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-turbofan, straight-wing, subsonic attack aircraft. It has been nicknamed the Warthog. The A-10's primary built-in weapon is the 30×173 mm GAU-8/A Avenger autocannon with a firing rate of 3900 rounds per minute. Designed for ground support and anti-tank duties.

Good neighborhood over watch aircraft.

There would be some who would rather spend their time trying to be right than trying to comfort the afflicted.

Which includes, of course, afflicting the comfortable . . . .
Promoting the disarming of federal law enforcement agents and encouraging violence against "cops" in general does not provide comfort to anyone. Your mixing of resentment of law enforcement with seminars on highly lethal weapons is not just a cutesy exercise in "fun stuff".

Keep doing it and others will keep calling you on it. The "cute" veil is a bunch of crap. Your macho discourse about rapid-kill weapons mixed with resentment against law enforcement officials encourages violence in society. Support of this mix by you, HisArpy, Chobham, JoePepsiCo, and others will not simply be ignored.
