Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

This is a repeat from another thread, but I could use the uplift:

puppies.jpg

I "spotted" 14 puppies in that picture. It would not surprise us if they are in fact from a single litter; Dals are known for large litters. My wife adopted a Dal mom 40 years ago (our first of four) just after she had 12.

We're working on a Dalmatian art project this week for a formal exhibit. It's due Thursday and the pressure is on.

Funny little scene that occurred to me today-

Treebeard: I am not altogether on anybody's side, because nobody is altogether on my side, if you understand me.
Lorax: I am the Lorax, and I speak for the trees. I will stand by your side!
Poison Ivy: And so will I!
Groot: I am Groot!

Has anyone seen the Liberty Mutual dog walker commercial? I love the ad primarily for the calm Greyhound, who watches all the action but doesn't chase the rabbit. You do realize a Greyhound is trained to chase the rabbit, but it is also in their DNA. It's what they do, hunt rabbits or other critters. Also, The Greyhound is taller and weighs more than the walker. They have another one I caught yesterday, with libity bibaty guy in it trying to take the place of Dug and Beoboo.

Of course, I bet on that Greyhound in a race this year. Didn't chase the rabbit and barely chased the other dogs.

Mary? That's a Great Dane. It's still funny because Great Danes are known for being stoic in the face of chaos. The only flaw in the commercial is the Great Dane would have been the one straddling the walker and licking her face. Maybe that was how it was originally scripted but the trainer couldn't get it to cooperate.

When I said the dog was taller than her, I mean if it were on his hind-legs he would be. I thought it was a greyhound, my mistakes.

Good afternoon teen gang.

Just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in...no, wait, scratch that.

Just dropped in to update on my condition. (Sorry, refraining from obscure song references can be difficult for me.)

Anyway:

Week long bout with Covid; feeling better finally and will be back to work tomorrow.

Not feeling 100% and will definitely be wearing a mask around others just in case I'm still contagious but I don't think I am anymore. Still, I will be cautious of course.

The upside to all this is I've managed to fully quit vaping.

I was already in the process of quitting before I caught Covid but once that shit set in, no way my lungs could handle vaping anymore anyway.

So... yay me. I guess.

Had the whole damn week off; really hoped I could get some writing done but haven't been able to focus on it at all unfortunately.

Hard to write sexy when you feel like death.

Hopefully my mojo will be back soon.

I managed to go three years without catching it, working in Senior Living, then caught it in May.

I was able to get on Paxlovid so I only had a few days of heavy symptoms.

You may have a lingering cough for a few weeks.

I got it last year about two weeks after my first booster shot. Wasn't fun but it might have been worse. I think it lasted 3 days for me.

As I’ve said before. I had it both before and after vaccination. I know which one I preferred.

Em (MS)

PS Vaccines don’t stop you catching viruses, they help your body eliminate them more efficiently and at greater speed - I feel I ought to mention this.

I need to go and get both my flu shot and another vid booster but I was waiting for the latest one. I guess since it is Ick-tober I need to hop right on that.
