Actually I was a firefighter/EMT in a large metro area with a daytime population over 150,000.

As well as being a volunteer firefighter/EMT in a rural area.

Still other methods far outweighed gun shot suicides.

On the total attempts at suicide, yes, but not at the number of ones that are "successful" according to the statistics......so go yell at Harvard if you disagree.

There ya go again, misstating what's been said. We care very much about those that are mentally unstable having firearms because they are the ones that not only 'off' themselves, but are the ones that engage in the senseless mass shootings. The point is that those that want to 'off' themselves will find a way with or without a firearm.

Now we get into the sticky area. How do you decide who's mentally unstable and WHO gets to decide?

I knew a guy. Depressive. Brave faced phony. Sicker'n dog shit. Went and bought a handgun, and 30 days later, he capped himself. His wife found him. He had a shrink, he had anti-depressants, he had all of that shit. Knowing the guy, I'm inclined to doubt that he told the doctor how bad it was. Give him credit, he didn't miss.
