Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

@JBoy1952
It's now 7:46 am... I'm finally awake, getting coffee and will be going to church around 9:30 am my time (we are 1 hour apart) I'm in Dayton, Ohio
Hmmmmm....RJ----are you sure you're awake? Both my computer and my phone say it's 6:05 am here right now, which makes east coast time 7:05 am. You're running ahead of schedule today!

And being old now, and young when they were young, I can appreciate them being old too. LOL
But they still had it in 2012

The above song blasted from my four big Sansui SP-3700 from Pioneer turntable through this very Sansui QRX-7500 4-channel receiver-amp
(I still have my entire vintage stereo system)

I used to have a stereo receiver similar to that. USED to have, it got damaged in one of our many moves, and was replaced with newer technology. 😢

The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun (2019 Mix)

George Harrison composition… but I admit, ever since I was a kid, I thought there was something wrong with my turntable, then later with my reel to reel tape recorder, then by the time I was 10 I realized it was the original recording that sounds f-ed up with the tempo… apparently John referred to the effect about “the flange” which let to the guitar effect called “a flanger“.

I do not know what is true and what is legend, but I know that this song was beautiful on its own without some goofy studio tricks…

The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun (2019 Mix)

Speaking of Here Comes the Sun, it isn't The Beatles version that I think of; rather, I like and prefer Richie Havens' cover of it. It was his biggest hit, cracking the top 20 back in 1971, but sadly he's been long forgotten except by diehards like myself. Whenever I hear The Beatles version, I always have to give this one a spin.
