Similar experience. I’m on Twitter and occasionally text Tweets to non Twitter account holders. In the past they’ve been able to see them. Yesterday I texted one and the recipient who doesn’t have a Twitter account couldn’t open it. If that’s a result of the new policy Musk announced then I think that’s a big mistake. Facebook doesn’t allow access by non account holders either even though many small businesses and nonprofit groups rely on FB exclusively and don’t even have websites.

That depends on the settings of the account holder. Facebook content can be seen, but not liked or commented on.
