Around here we pick corn right off the stalk and it eat raw sometimes. Not quite as good as cooked but pretty amazing on a hot day for sure.

I've done that before. Though people outside the Midwest probably don't realize you can't do that with MOST corn. Field corn vs sweet corn and all, though to be fair I didn't know the difference until I was an adult either.

I only grew up with my aunt and uncle living next door, who dropped a bushel of corn off at my house fresh picked from the farm. All of it sweet corn. The field corn was grown in the back of my house when I was younger, until the township felt like building big houses.
