One of my friends only gets Australian cattle dogs because they live to be like 18 . What kind of dog do you have?

I always had coonhounds growing up and told myself "heelers/cattle dogs are just biscuit chasers" but I love my Border Collie/Red Heeler. He's too damn smart and twice as mischievous. He turned 9 last Halloween and still acts a lot like a puppy, just endless energy.

My pup is 14, moving slower now. It’s funny, we originally got him to be our son’s dog, but he bonded with me the most. He sleeps next to me. I hate it that he won’t be around forever.
