Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

In the early 2000s all the kids at my college that came from northern ca said "hella," as in something like, "The baseball dad at practice today was hella fine." While the rest of us SoCal kids might say something like, "The baseball dad was da bomb." If college kids are also was also midlife moms checking out baseball dads, yeah...

So to update everyone on the fucked up VoraciousValue sweepstakes:

-- Dad's been doing well out of rehab. He's walking more without his cane. Which he shouldn't be doing, but pity the stupid bastard who tells him not to. A home health nurse came out today to talk about his needs, help with his meds, etc.

Waiting for the VA to send him all the new meds he's going to take. They're supposed to be getting him a shower chair and other things like that. Things look good going forward. :)

-- I checked in with my lady friend this evening. She said she wasn't "OK," but she had quit cutting her arm. She said she wasn't in any medical danger, etc. She admitted that I was genuinely concerned with her well being.

I admitted some things to her last night that were probably best dealt with another time, and I told her so. It was all true, I'm not taking any of it back, but I said them out of fear and panic from the desire to show that I cared. They came from a place of love, for lack of a better word. She said it was fine. I said that I did wish to talk to her about them at a better time.

I invited her to the art museum (or similar activity) on the weekend, and she's checking her schedule. My birthday is coming up, and some buddies of mine want to drag me to a big event, but I'd love to spend some time with her somewhere. I'm considering asking her to do a late night thing. :)

-- As for myself, I'm yearning for a few days on the lonesome prairie more than ever. If Dad keeps doing well, I'm hoping to do that towards the end of March. :)
