If you’re dealing with migraines. I hope you feel better.
As far as treatment goes. I’d suggest talking with your doctor. Maybe check with eastern medicine/ medical practices. I’ve heard of acupuncture/ ear piercing that is supposed to help/ prevent migraines. I’m starting to look into that.

Hard to say who you meant 😉

I know some gave gotten help from acupuncture - but not all. I normally get migraine so seldom that it's not really worth paying for it. Now since returning to work the frequency has been totally exceptional. Either it eases in time, or I will have to say working is still too much strain.

I wasn't talking about continuous of course. I was only talking about when the migraine hits!!!!

For paracetamol 1000mg 3 times a day is ordinary (though I know not to take more), 500mg is absolutely useless. Also 600mg of ibuprofen isn't too uncommon - I never use less than 400 for anything. Also their combination is common ans I've had cures just like that prescribed for me for other reasons - meaning 1-2 weeks 3x a day. Let me tell you, doctors didn't think long before they did... And my late husband ate ibuprofen 600mg for years bc of chronic pain because it had less side effects than the options.

Ibuprofen did not cost your kidneys. It attacks stomach, not kidneys like paracetamol.
Ibuprofen is metabolized primarily by the kidneys Strix - though it does given many people GI trouble/ stomach/ ulcer type issues. Paracetamol (called acetaminophen -brand name tylenol in the US) is metabolized by the liver. While it is important to not take doses above the recommended (which you are not doing according to your post [I know how sensible you are]), for both ibuprofen and paracetamol - paracetamol (acetaminophen) is often not seen as a medication that can be dangerous - however if taken in overdose quantities - it is absolutely deadly as there is no way to counteract it after consumption (except pumping stomach - short window for this) as it will cause liver failure.
Using them in combination as you do, is very safe and effective and we often recommend using in combination even for infants.

Will it help me as well Cass ? I will ask u doctor for it then..

Not directed AT anyone. It’s a general statement. Saying to check with your own doctor. Discuss between the 2 of you the best options for your situation.

Will give it a try..though i already have pierced ears....😅it ddnt help...

I am not offering medical advice for any particular issue. I have no idea what your medical complexities are, nor do I want to know them. Migraine is a complex diagnosis and different people respond to different treatments.
Also - don't be silly. pierced ears and acupuncture have nothing to do with each other.

So there’s a thread about if you’ve ever had fantasies about your cousins. Well I have, my Boston cousins (both male) I fantasise about tying them to a stake and using a flame thrower on them. Yeah me a psycho 🤪

I got one better than that, but I'm not sure I can even tell you or anyone, because it could be considered sick!

Ibuprofen gives stomach ulcer problems way before kidney problems. Just like aspirin, though not as easily.

And paracetamol is commonly known to be a risk to the kidneys, if taken too much.

Of these 2 paracetamol is the easier one two overdose, though many (non-professionals) believe it safer. Ibuprofen has a bit of more leeway. Or... Actually a lot of more leeway. (In the hospital setting you can get even ridiculously big dozes I've heard.)

In my case the risk indeed isn't overdosing - it's taking ibuprofen a bit too often in the long run. Migraine now, mens last week etc. It might cause the so called pain killer headache... (Taking 3x a day for 2 weeks is less of a risk than taking every now and then but not constantly.) Which is why I try to endure the milder aches completely withou, yet take properly when I really need it.

It’s best to bite one’s tongue at times. Not saying anyone here does but there MANY that kink shame on this site.
Of all places, I have learned NOT to post is on this main thread. The last time I did, I will never forget it. It has been and still is a mind blowing experience, I don't wish to repeat it.
