It's "Twitter Freedom Friday!"

That's certainly one aspect of it but I'm tying it back to the intelligence apparatus. It serves their bureaucratic aspirations as well.

The one thing I've learned over the years is that once a bureaucracy reaches a certain size it no longer serves the needs of the citizen, it begins to exist for it's own purposes only.

Quoted for posterity and stupidity.

A whole lot of people outside the “bureaucracy” benefit from the supply chains the “bureaucracy” facilitates. and the oversight of those supply chains.

There’s a reason the “bureaucracy” is bigger and more complicated than it was in 1787. I doubt the idiot I quoted understands the reason.

👉 idiot 🤣

It's been a while since I enjoyed a good vanity thread. It always turns out just the way the thread starter intended.
Do you enjoy all of the vanity threads that Chobaum makes? Which of his vanity threads do you enjoy the most? I like the ones when he gets butthurt and hits the bottle first.

Oh. What's that? You've never commented on any of the dozens he's made in the 20 years you have been on the board together?

Millionaire lotto winners who make more in interest than most here make per year are much smarter than poor people who comment on them.

Those lotto winners who illegally avoid paying taxes on their winnings are even “smarter”.

🙄

How many Litsters are going to come put and justify this behavior on the part of the "Surveillance State?"

Do I have this right? You don’t want the FBI enforcing laws, and you don’t want them reimbursing a company for the cost of enforcing laws. You want companies to lose money when they enforce the laws, and you don’t want them enforcing laws at all.

Nobody on the Left. It's like how Laurel cracked down really hard on Conservatives over mentioning children but allowed Throb to accuse me for years of purchasing a rent-a-gook for the purposes of sex. I talked to Laurel about that and was told that she never saw that even though I know several other people complained to her on my behalf and so, she allowed his violation of "forum policy/rules" for years because his target(s) were approved of.
Oh AJ, my mere existence on this board seems to give you ulcers. Perhaps the Playground would be more to your liking....everyone seems so friendly over there.

I had thought once Laurel created the Political Board you wouldn't have to read my posts any longer, as you claimed you'd never come here and would instead continue to lecture folks on the much larger General Board, Alas, you no longer had the traction there you once had, and here you are.

And here I am.

Why don't you swallow your pride and put me on ignore? My continued existence here (20+ years and never banhammed) seems to be eating you up.

"Approximately 210,000 employees were laid off by the fifteen tech companies. All fifteen have engaged in the surreptitious censorship of conservatives. In fact, in 2021, all these companies banned the sitting president of the United States, President Donald Trump. If they can do this to Trump, imagine what they can do to you. These parochial companies have demonstrated their will to “follow the money,” and this year all that money went down the toilet. These companies sunk, and that is a fantastic thing on behalf of the American people. The next Congress should repeal Section 230, which offers legal protection regarding what appears on their platforms. Will the repeal occur? Probably not, since our politicians have a copious number of lobbyists associated with Silicon Valley. However, great steps should be taken immediately to strip big tech of their protections.

"Any time that these left-leaning platforms lose money, it is a good thing. They censored a sitting president, deplatformed conservative thought, lied about January 6th, and lied about COVID-19. The Twitter Files have shed light on all the darkness that these companies kept hidden away from the world. In many ways, the loss of money these companies experienced this year represents justice for all the catastrophes they unleashed. Always remember that a bad day for Silicon Valley is a good day for America."

Grievance porn.

Do I have this right? The 1/6 Committee makes referrals to the DOJ for criminal prosecutions, and it’s toothless and means nothing. The FBI makes referrals to Twitter for TOS violations, and it’s suppression of free speech?

Twitter only acted on less than 40% of the referrals, yet got paid for all of them (per their referral policies)

The cockiness of "last."

This is the crux of the issue. Those who don't speak out against this are either condoning it because they believe that they'll benefit from it, or they're agnostic toward it because they believe that if they don't speak out they'll be left alone.

"First they came for..."

This is especially funny because you're the "victim" who always gets banned.

You tried.

😑

Yes, you have it right. The DOJ is part of the Executive branch and its prosecutorial decisions are not directed by Congress. The FBI is not chartered with determining or enforcing TOS rules for social media companies.
