Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

I'd say good morning but it's well past morning for me.
Monday is generally my busiest day of the week. And this one is no exception. Sigh.

How is everyone?
It's been an active day. Arranging stuff that had a place and some that didn't before this, got the Xmas tree (pic some pages back), put up rest of the lights... Now I should still do a quick vacuum over the place and do dessert for the tomorrow - and maybe heat up the sauna to relax.

Only one I've ever found I've liked in Blaum Brothers, which is actually local-ish. It's the one I keep around for making drinks when entertaining, alot more subdued on the pine than any other I've tried, definitely more anise and citrus than most. I'm much more of a bourbon/scotch man, so I'm not as widely experienced with clear liquors. 🙂
If you’re a fan of a more citrus gin, I’d really recommend picking up a bottle of Neptunia. A recent release from them, so it's still at most major retailers.

When I run out of my Blaum Brothers, I'll have to check it out!

@Bbl87 Didnt realize it’s made in Galena, IL. Guessing some of the bigger liquor stores in SE Wisconsin should have it in stock!

Honestly, might make for a good weekend get away Trip!
That's what we were there for when we went. They should have their own bourbon now too. When we went, they were still aging their own but offering a custom blend from another distillery. I can't remember the actual name of it, but when you lined up the different parts of the name, certain letters were a slightly different color and it read "Not Our Bourbon" if you paid attention. 😆

Cas, I am going to work on the recipe cards today. two questions-do you have the cranberry liquor recipe and do you have a photo I can include?

12 oz. bag of fresh cranberries
2-3 cups of vodka (can use brandy if you prefer)
Zest of 3 oranges
1 cup sugar
Cheesecloth and coffee filters
Large funnel for straining & filling bottles

Wash cranberries and then chop briefly in a food processor for best results.

Use a large glass jar with good lid (quart size or larger). Combine chopped cranberries and zest of oranges with sugar and then place in a large, clean glass container. Add 2-3 cups vodka or brandy or enough to cover the fruit. Some fruit will float and that is okay. Can add any other spices that you wish (vanilla bean, cinnamon sticks, allspice – use your imagination). Stir the mixture and cover the container tightly. Set container on a shelf, away from heat or sunlight for at least 6 weeks (longer is better). Stir or shake occasionally.

After steeping, strain the mixture using several layers of cheesecloth. Once removed from the alcohol, store the “drunken fruit” in the refrigerator and use within a few days as a dessert topping, addition to tea bread, or addition to a dessert sauce.

Take the remaining flavored alcohol and strain again using fresh cheesecloth or better yet, coffee filters to get a clear liquid with no cloudiness.

Bottle your liqueurs in clean, decorative bottles and label with a date. The liqueurs will have the best flavor after a few months of sitting on the shelf (aging). They will begin to lose their bright color and some flavor after one year but they will not “go bad” because the alcohol is the preservative.

so hangry is a thing. Is horngry a thing too?
Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes! YES 😭
Check his profile... always the 1st place to look. 😊
I forgot those existed 🤣
You are supposed to set it on top of your steaming coffee cup so it gets all lovely to eat. Crackling is not desirable in stroopwafel. Must be cold there!
LTM how to eat stroopwafels... I just basically ate it like biscuits 😳
Gin makes my face overheat
Tequila does that for me 🤔
I just had the worst food I've ever had. Never eating at McDonald's again. Not that I should have been eating that anyways but still. 🤮
What in the world did you order 0.0

I've never been to 5 Guys, but I love Wendy's
I kinda am afraid to try new things.
