I haven't seen beyond the first season, but I can tell it was made with appreciation for Star Trek. So far it's a good show from what I've seen.

I agree the warp 7 issue was nonsense. Especially seeing them cruising at Warp 7 in the very next episode . It wasn't pollution, however, it was the traveling at those speeds created tears and riffs and Subspace. There are a ton of these abandoned issues/ story lines in the Star Trek universe. I think mostly due to the fact that these shows were being produced on the Fly.

One of my biggest pet peeves was how they would keep going to and abandoning data's ability or inability to use contractions.

I could have given a much better analysis of The Orville but the best thing to say is keep going - please comment when you've finished S3!

It was double digit years ago since TNG so wooly memories! Star Wars (to me) has become like Marvel, just too many spin offs.
