Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

I hear you, I tend to lurk in the AH, only posting occassionally, but I find that they tend to turn into arguments before any real good points are made. So I always tend to ask Authors directly

I hung out in the AH for the longest time, and then I left. For good. I found the forum was dominated by a dozen or so boorish old farts so full of themselves, they truly believed they were infallible, that every word they ever wrote or spoke was handed to them directly from God, and that anyone else's stories, thoughts, or opinions were just so much noise if it was not in marching lockstep with their own. Their "advice" invariably was just another opportunity to puff themselves up by showcasing their greatness while they threw pearls to the swine. So, I would take these authors' "advice" with a very massive grain of salt.

And I have read their stories (and lo! they would never dream to read mine), and quite frankly, they aren't nearly as talented as they think they are.

Mainly why I lurk. I know of some/quite a few who fit the discription you gave. The few I do engage with, I do so privately. I'm not seeking to praise their greatness, so much as achieve my own level of quality.
