Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

My sleep wasn't the best last night. Maybe 20 minutes at a time, but that's no big deal, because I get to make up for it when I get home
Ooh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you have lots of snuggly blankets and pillows at home! You were probably already told this, but just in case you didn't know, putting a pillow between your legs takes some of the pressure off your spine and keeps it in alignment when you're side sleeping. I know you said that's the most comfortable position right now.

No need to be sorry. There's actually a leg pillow in between my feet right now. We had to buy an air mattress, because I don't own a bed, but I got the extra tall one.

Hopefully that works out for you. I slept on an air mattress for a few months or so as a kid when I was living in an apartment with my mom. I never found them to be uncomfortable, but they had some imprints that made the bed a little lumpy.

Yeah, they're not my favorite either. Like you said they're kind of lumpy. But my beds a floor bed and I can't try to get up off the floor everyday

still being able to move the toe without any additional pain is a good sign too right?
If most of the pain is at the far part of the toe, like where the nail is, could potentially have a tuft fracture. Which in itself, they pretty much just have you try and keep weight off it to let it heal, doesn’t really interfere with movement of the toe itself since it doesn’t invoke the joint. The issue is if it was bleeding around the nail, then it would be considered at open fracture since there’s an open wound at the area and it could make it easier for infection. It is gonna hurt from the swelling cause there’s not much places for that extra fluid build up to go, and if there’s bleeding under the nail, you’ll get that pressure build up too which is painful. So going to an urgent care and getting some X-rays just to check isn’t the worst idea. The big toe is the one that takes most of the weight and helps with balance. If it was one of the other toes I usually just say buddy tape it and that’s about it.

I was the same way. Those beds are horrible. I just kept the one light on the whole time, the nurse kept asking me all night if I wanted it off so I could sleep, I had to keep telling her that at best I’d doze for a little bit, then wake up and read til I dozed again. So it was just easier to keep it on. Btw, reading while on morphine is amusing.

I kept one light on all night as well. Mostly because I don't like sleeping in strange places.

One between the knees, and one in your arms like you’re giving it a hug is the best way I found for keeping it in line. And sorry for all the advice giving the last few posts. Playing catch up on a few pages worth of comments here.

That too. Plus so I could see where the hell I was going when I had to pee since I’m a stubborn ass and didn’t ever ask for help. When I got to my room from recovery they had pretty much the 4 smallest nurses on the floor there to help move me into bed, I’m just shy of 6’2” and like 260lbs…I just looked at them and said I had to pee if that’s cool, got up on my own and gimped my way to the bathroom so they didn’t have to move me.
