People should be able to manage their own behaviour and regulate themselves. If you’re aware someone is offended and has made you aware, out of respect and curtesy you stop. It’s called common decency.Don’t worry about me… I just don’t want to see anyone leave but I don’t know how to mediate the conflict. I and my ancestors before me (for as far back as I can go) are all English. I use the term “aww bless” all the time. I never use it as an insult. I will say things like “aww bless, that is so sweet” and it is because I think something is cute or sweet
But it's still the preamble. I wasn't talking about how mild or intense it was, just how it was used
I on the other hand will say

I think it’s specifically “bless your heart” said by someone from the southern US. That is a big ol’ fuck you usually.

I more so meant the “aww bless your heart” but I was being sarcastic too lol. You can tell when it’s genuine and part of the way someone speaks.
I will never forget. She called us sweetie, darling, and every other cutesy name under the sun and her light was just infectious.
And here I thought southerners were being so lovey to each other. I haven’t been in the deep south in over 15 years though, and never lived there.
