Hmm just bc you can't see it it doesn't mean it's not there. You won't see it. The norms benefit white people

Here's one law review article. It's about these same concepts in the legal field
For me, It is reaping the benefit that made it obvious. I base agreeing because of all those small scale interactions in a broken hierarchal system I spent years exploiting in my favor. I didn't experience racism, I learned to cover up class young, but I do see all the advantages, leg ups, benefits of the doubt that I grabbed that got me here, especially 13-25ish. Just certain minor changes, those chances would have vanished. Once I was where I wanted to be, I see it less, but getting there, damn, the social constructs were very biased in my favor, as long as I said the correct things, dressed the correct way, displayed the proper demeanor, decorum, professionalism. I could have gotten where I got as a man (different path but there), I could have done it no matter where in this country I was from, income level, so many things could have been different and I would have been ok. Even as a woman, while disadvantaged in many ways, we also have privileges in the system too, that are only ours. However, if I was dark skinned I could not have done it, because of all the chances that evaporated, because of their perception. I can check my own experiences, and see it was there every single step of the way. Not that I haven't had a knee jerk denial on discrimination. Article on bias and discrimination against heavier women in the workforce last year. My initial gut reaction, please, I am plus sized and not discriminated against, but then replaying my life as a skinny bitch, yup, nevermind, you are totally right, it was always there, even when it didn't matter, it was there. If I know of so many ways I unfairly benefited by infiltrating the system as a normie, then the system exists, and those who can't pass are obviously disadvantaged.
