I believe Jersey jade is speaking her truth. In some neighborhoods where it's mixed.This happens on a daily. They do it in Tampa, Orlando, shit even Long Island, West palm. I've personally heard it. I am a black woman in NYC and I know its used by whites. What she says is in poor taste, but not racist. In the real world its used. It's up to the black people around whites saying it to correct them. The kids black father will let them know what's like to be a black man.
Some of you people need to socialize in the real world.

It's funny to me that Mo is getting on someone about videos. This motherfucking white man posted a video with Suge Knight claiming he was Suge. The motherfucker who beat his wife unmercifully, She wrote a book about it. Same motherfucker has plenty assault charges who is up for attempted murder and locked up.

I've seen a Puerto Rican man say some real racist shit on this site and not one mother fucker corrected him or called him a racist. As a white person, I believe it is my responsibility to educate myself on the history of racism and oppression in my country and elsewhere and to do my best to be an ally whenever I can. Like KL, I have never found the need to ever use racial slurs, but I am certain that I cannot know or comment when people of color are comfortable using such words in their own friend groups. These topics are difficult to engage in with people that you trust to assist you in struggling to come to terms with unconcious racial bias and white privilege, the impacts of racism in day to day life and the toll that takes on people of color. In fast paced Lit Land where context and tone is lost in our keyboards, I hesitate to engage on the open boards as it does not seem to meaningfully contribute to education and is more likely than not to cause pain, harm and resistance.

I'm obviously not going to argue with a Black woman as to whether non-Black people can use racial slurs that are used towards Black people.

I will say that Latinos (generally speaking) are very racist towards Black and Indigenous people because internalized colonization is real. I have had to educate myself in these topics and I continue to learn and call out my family and people around me when they're being racist and/or ignorant.

Lastly, I've only been here a couple of months (or started posting I should say) and I have never seen anyone else used such language but I call out my family, I would definitely say something here too.
