Biden to Release U.S. Oil Reserves in Challenge to OPEC+

Yes, Canadian oil would've flowed and leaked through our country to be added to the open market. It's already being moved through our country and being added to the open market.

By truck, a much dirtier, expensive and less efficient way of transportation.

Let's go (D)ipshits!!! :D

The US has never been energy independent. That's been the bullshit line from the right and you using it as some sort of "factual bases" for your argument says much about the argument

Biden signed an executive order stopping drilling to evaluate impact on federal land. There was already a backlog of existing drilling permits.

The Keystone pipeline was never a benefit to the US...it was always a benefit for Canada. Jobs and advantages to the US were minimal at best.

Let's talk about "simple" shall we?

Prior to Jan 2022, the US was energy independent. It was the top exporter of energy in the world.

After coming into office, Biden signed an EO prohibiting the sale/lease of federal lands for oil. He signed an EO reversing the approval for the Keystone pipeline.

Within days the price of energy began to rise. It continues to rise even though Biden has "begged" energy producers in several nations to increase production.

So, break it down. We were energy independent, Biden signs EO's killing that independence, and now we're suffering high prices with stopgap ideas that provide no real solutions for either the near or long term.

Let's hear you tell us what the simple answer is to fixing that problem?

Or are you too stuck on stupid to figure it out?

Actually by train, BNSF to be specific. Majority owned by Warren Buffet who also lobbied against the pipeline. Go figure.

The pipeline was paid for by US Taxpayers, the cleanup would be paid for by US taxpayers and the jobs would all be Canadian. All to give Canada a streamline to the global market to sell to the highest bidder.

We have more jobs and less forfeiture of land by Americans now. No benefit.

LOL.....ignore the facts and make up any story you like!!!!

Anything to defend the (D).

So, Biden is going to let THREE DAYS worth of oil out of the reserve.

Meanwhile, OPEC laughs and slows their pumping/delivery schedule for 2 weeks and the price of gas goes up while our emergency stockpile goes down.

Seriously, WTF???

Biden just can't seem to figure out what he's doing wrong. All he has to do is revoke his EO moratorium on Federal land oil & gas leases and the Keystone pipeline to make this problem go away. Instead he's trying to apply a bandaid to a severed artery and ignoring what's really going on.

That wouldnt help one iota, derpy. There are millions of hectares of untapped land that has been approved and its is just sitting there unused. Opening up more land will have zero effect.

Not shocking at all, leftist are always sucking off the elites to their own detriment.

And yes a majority of it is coming on train, more efficient/clean than truck but I read a still not so insignificant minority of it is coming on trucks literally shitting all over the reasons (D)'s gave for attacking our domestic fossil fuel industry.

Jesus these dumbfucks are stupid. Not all oil is created equally. It is true you could make gas from Canadian shale oil...but it costs double to refine. Far cheaper to buy good oil from overseas even at this high price.

American oil requires a base price of about $55 per barrel to break even".

Why biden's energy policy is a failure and why dipping into the SPR is a mistake. this will explain why!

"It’s okay for Russia to dig up fossil fuels. No problem in Saudi Arabia and others oil Producers to pump more oil. But it is not acceptable for American producers to restore America’s first energy independence."

" Biden, He killed the Keystone XL pipeline, grounded new fossil fuel leases on federal lands, grounded ANWR in Alaska, grounded Willow in Alaska, and now he’s complaining that the near doubling in gasoline prices isn’t really his fault. It is the fault of Saudi Arabia, OPEC and Russia. huh? The United States was producing just over 13 million barrels a day during the pandemic with the economy shutting down and all production dropping to about 11 million barrels a day, the problem is that as the economy recovers and energy demand increases, US producers and crackers are still operating at about 11 million barrels a day. This is the main reason why gasoline prices have almost doubled. We should not beg the Saudis and Russia. We, America First, are energy independents, we’re the swing producers if the White House lets us produce. The number of rigs recovered was minimal. why?"

"Because Biden's Green New Deal, the obsession with destroying fossil fuels has completely stifled any investment spirit in the energy sector. It’s a wet blanket. Nobody wants to risk money in the future today because they fear Biden’s attack on fossil fuels. Which still accounts for about 80% of our energy. And the great irony in all of this is that as I mentioned yesterday evening, the natural gas fracking revolution has reduced our carbon emissions by more than 20% since 2005 because nat gas is a clean combustion fuel."

All this demented moron needs to do is get the jackboot of the Central State off the necks of the poeple and we'll fix it. But that's just not how the Democrats do business, is it?

How is anyone oppressed by the existence of a Strategic Petroleum Reserve?

Good.

In ten years time it will be ~$15 inflation adjusted.

And in fifteen years, the oil pumps will be only in ports and military bases. The roadside pumps will all gone bankrupt.

Exactly. I remember the 1979 oil embargo....all the politicians bitched and bitched talking about how we shouldn't be controlled by a foreign government. 45 years later....what has been done? And how many of those years were led by Republicans? Exactly. Fuck off. The only good Republican is a dead Republican and we don't have to do shit to facilitate that cause they are killing themselves at a rate of 9 out of 10.

Why compare our industries to Russia? Putin has been an authoritarian prick for years. You want that shit, move to Russia.

But yes, I already got the "it's Biden's fault" take. You posting someone else whining about it doesn't actually make any less bullshit....especially from some random indy site copycatting Kudlow bullshit from someone else.

Can we cross-post this bit of Marie-Antoiinette to the "Government doesn't care about you" thread. It fits perfectly.

Then how is getting "the jackboot of the Central State off the necks of the poeple" a relevant consideration with respect to petroleum prices?

That doesn't have anything to do with the SPR, just the leftist penchant for strangling economic activity for political ends.

Obama’s best accomplishments were his energy policies and Biden did a complete 180 from that. This is one time Biden should have followed in Obama’s footsteps.

I never made a comparison to Russian industry.

Your quotation from Kudlow:

"It’s okay for Russia to dig up fossil fuels. No problem in Saudi Arabia and others oil Producers to pump more oil. "

Obama also released from the reserve.

Then, it has nothing to do with this.

It has everything to do with it. We were a net exporter of energy prior to Biden's inauguration, now we go begging to the worst regimes on Earth to help us get the energy we need. All of this - every bit - is due to Biden's interventionist policies, and the reason we're eating the seed corn of the SPR.

At around $10-$12 gallon it becomes profitable to synthesize kerosene out of thin air -- yes, literally -- so you would likely still be able to buy that for your antique car.
