High heels

Well, thank you! As for my doubts, I have to say that the fine folk at Lit did wonders for helping me get past a lot of my self-consciousness. These days, I am reminded to be humble because otherwise the Furies visit me with a vengeance. However, I'll always been grateful for my early years at Lit because they did so much for my self-esteem when it came to my attractiveness as a woman.

People often focus on folks who are a bit fluffy when it comes to being self-conscious, but I had the opposite problem of being far to skinny. Yes, that is possible IRL. I remember seeing a picture at a family gathering, wondering who the anorexic girl was - only to realize I was looking at ME! And I haven't been anorexic or bulimic a day in my life! Thank goodness. I just couldn't put on weight for love nor money, a problem I bet a lot of people would love to have. But for me, it was an issue bc for all I that I supposedly had a model's build, I had a terrible time finding clothes that fit and I was sick all the time. With 20 extra lbs, I fought off sickness much better, had curves and just all around FELT better about who I was.

Now I'm a little on the fluffy side myself, and taking a walk down memory lane from when I was at Lit the first time has allowed me to objectively evaluate myself - and I'm really not all that different - not in ways that would make a difference to most people I would find attractive. Catty, shallow people that are judgemental? sure. But they don't count.

As for finding shoes that I like - oh, you bet I buy multiple pairs when I find something that works. And I sure would have bought another pair of these two if I could have. I couldn't. I picked them up out of town, so by the time I realized how great they were, I was SOL.

That's why when I picked up the skechers heels recently, I bought a pair of every damn style that were close to fitting right. Especially at the price that they were - it was worth taking a chance.

My closet is filled with shoes that I had hopes for that were yet another disappointment. And sometimes, feet change shape. That was certainly the case when I had my kid and then when I put on weight. I had a killer pair of t-strap Mary Janes in black and brick red that made me feel like I could rule the world when I wore them - and I couldn't get back into them after I dropped the baby weight. I damn near cried.

Oh and Chinese Laundry is the brand of shoe. And thanks for making me explain. It's been a while since I was on the site, and I saw these beauties. Not the sleek heel I usually like but at least the front isn't round.

You're so welcome ImiGirrst... I do enjoy reading your posts... Both are nice heels, but the second swings it for me. Just looks a little more appealing, from my subby point of view...

Hey SweetAnnie40... It's a hard pass from me too... It should be mainly Women wearing heels IMHO... There are exceptions, but not what appears to be everyday guys... Although I appreciate your post as it highlights an interesting point of difference...

Well, yes, but the first pair are a combo of practical and refined, which, if you are doing some serious time on your feet is a necessity for those of use who think it's gauche to lose the shoes as long as the outfit is still on.

GO GIRL!! (or at least I'm assuming you're a girl like me.) I concur - of the three, I like this one best.

But my favorite male heels wearer has to got be Barrowman.

He can rock them better than most women I know. I love this video!

John Barrowman teaches how to walk in heels

Of course I have to admit to being a bit jealous of men, because with their longer feet, they can get a higher heel without as severe an angle. I have a small foot for my height (only a 7.5 US), whereas Paris Hilton is an inch and a half shorter with a size 11! But Barrowman really does have the right of it - the only way to walk in heels is with decisiveness! If you even think about shuffling, you might as well put on a pair of flats.

Being a male I am more visual in stimulating my sexual excitation, so men in high heels does not really work for me. However, I do recognize the history of high heels, and know that it did start with men wearing high heels, and not women.

Hello ImiGirrst... A bare footed Woman wearing clothes is a sight to behold... But I respect you consider that gauche... So you've convinced me... Your first choice I'd still get groovy with, especially if it meant you enjoyed wearing them for a longer time...:)

LOL:D, ImiGirrst... I do admit as a celebrity and actor, I do like John Barrowman... So this photo is so him... It made me smile... A guy like him is an exception, as I mentioned in my previous post. Those other guys in SweetAnnie40's post just looked too random with all due respect, not flamboyant enough, or purposeful enough...

I concur on the shuffling though... I've seen that in real life, and it's not at a pretty sight... I really respect you're all about the art of walking in heels, not only on your terms, but in a way that's attractive and alluring...

I don't have a problem with men wearing high heels. As I said earlier, the fashion itself started with men wearing heels in the early 1700's,, but the picture given shows men wearing woman's heels, and it looks like an unmade bed to me...it just looks off.

I think high heels on men MIGHT make a fashion come-back, but it would take heels designed for men, and not borrowed heels from the closet or their girlfriend or wife. Done well, I think there is a huge market to be tapped for the right fashion designed.

Me? Yeah I wear high heels. High heeled logging boots that is!

Men should have their own heeled boots. They should not wear women's high heels. Those are very feminine and simply do not go with men.

Hello PoisonedEve... Welcome to the discussion... I think this subject is really dividing the crowd... There are times/exceptions (I don't participate myself) with guys like Rupaul, it's a part of their act... Or a part of other practices in BDSM... But as I've stated before with more refinement; for my two pence, I agree it should mainly be Women wearing heels which are designed for Women...

I thought high heels were invented by a short woman who was tired of being kissed on the forehead?

I am impressed!
