Amorous Goods

Exactly what happens

Thanks!! Funny item... Can the user take the earring off if they want the lesbian urge to stop? Would it work on gay men? You got something interesting there.

The emeralds were another story. I should have quoted the author who posted here, my bad. But in my defense it was like 2 pages ago, so I grew lazy to look for it and quote.

But I'm reviewing (deadline is getting really tighter now) and considering changing to your item. It's just a cameo actually, simple change.

I got no proper ending to my story yet and this is driving me crazy. It's like having an awesome dream and you couldn't remember.

That's the hook, as soon as she took them off, everything came back to her in a blur and she was shocked at what she did. Earrings on, the ladies are attractive to her. Earrings off, she's not into them. I posted my ending. I wonder if that's what put me at 4.33, which I prefer 4.4 or higher.

Hi again, I'm relatively new to this site, and I have never thought about replying to comments on my stories until now. Is it possible to reply to individual comments, or do we just have to leave it?

My submission to this competition received two comments I wanted to reply to in particular. One commenter had a couple of questions, the other made some valid criticisms I wanted to address (no confrontation, just explaining myself).

Is it the done thing to comment on your own story? Can you reply to individual comments? Or do you simply have to leave it be?

Publishing ETA?

Guys, on average, how long from sending your stories until they got published?

I'm getting butterflies on stomach here about mine....

Better late than Halloween?

Finally got my Amorous Goods story in. Hope it's not too late...

Yours went up this morning.

Supposed to be a full list posted somewhere today. Not sure where.

I read it and I must say, you have really great characters and the sex scenes are great! Only bummer is how they fell short, but again, it's a good story.

I'd recommend to you, if I may play the grammar Nazi, to get a good reviewer at your side next time as I could spot some mistakes here and there.

I liked Vikki and Dylan, but I think they are more of a comedy than terror, while the overall story is more of an erotic one than a horror story.

For now, I'm in the middle of reading the pendulum. It is really good, I'm almost to the ending, and got me hooked. The amount of similar concepts to mine scared me a little, but it is entirely coincidence.

Hey guys! Finally It's out! My story can see the light of the day!

Although, I believe I lost the chance to compete with you all, It was published only today, the rules stated I had until 31st. Oh well... I don't think my first story would stand a chance around Lit, but it is good to see a project comeing to an end.

If you guys are into some surreal scenes, I'd like to invite you to check it out. It got some gore, evil cult kinda of thing going on... I tried characterization and I'm really out of my comfort zone, all people are not inspired by anyone from my place neither my country.

I'm anxious to see your reaction to it!

It turned up to be really long, but it got many different scenes to eat, should I say maybe 4 acts and a Prologue? Not that well defined, but I'll go with that.

Sorry, took a while to reply to this. I could do that, but one of them is anonymous. He made some pretty valid criticisms of my story that made me facepalm. Apparently, I used the word "taught" instead of "taut". Still can't believe I did that. That's what happens when you rush to get your story in on time.

And I got my history wrong, too.

I might just address this when I rewrite the story as a multi-parter, perhaps go into the history more, and not edit it at midnight after work when I'm tired.

It varies, honestly. Depends on how many stories are in Laurels review cue, what's going on that may take presidence over others like contest and such, and how many you submit, probably other reasons. Like; I submitted my AG story on the 30th and it went live the same day, same for the second story I submitted on the 31st. Also the less work the story needs, the faster it may be submitted- which sometimes helps if you're an active submitter. I've waited days to a week or so for a story, then a few times I've submitted more than one, fairly close together and they've went live around the same time.

multi-partner actually is a cool idea. I want to someday try to write a story with someone from Lit.

About the contest, how do we know the winner? Is it updated somewhere?

Mine got pretty big, so it took around 8 hours I guess. But I'm impressed you wrote two.

Think about it I guess I've had mine split in two, it would make more sense I guess. Oh well... At least I finished it, I had some trouble finishing my projects lately.

In the Starsky & Hutch TV series, they regularly rolled their undercover car around a corner past Lovejoy Antiques, which may have inspired the Lovejoy series of the forensic antiques dealer sussing-out forgeries. For an Amorous Goods spinoff, include a Lovejoy who determines if antique sex toys are real or forged. Those slim double-dildos -- were they really carved from walrus tusks by Esquimaux? What's the provenance of those alleged medieval chastity belts? Are Czar Nicholas's and John Dillinger's cocks preserved in brandy? Etc.

is the sofa available?

I like this story idea. It would be worthwhile to flesh out the concept of the store, and probably to detach it from the TV show explicitly.

It ties in with something I've been working on because I've been working on a magic item/mind control story concept involving a psychotherapist who begins using an object on his patients to enable hypnosis for the purpose of treating them for sexual disorders and hangups, but of course unexpected consequences ensue and the therapist crosses the line ethically. He could buy the object from the store.

Hi, SimonDoom. You floated this psychotherapist idea last year and I riffed off of it on 21 Aug, after the item became a couch.
Now that we're back for a 2nd season of AG, I'm wondering if you followed up on this idea or if it would be okay if I used it for my 2021 AG story?

Cheers from a Small Island.

I got your PM but when I tried to reply the system told me your profile wasn't set up to accept private messages.

Go ahead and use the idea however you wish. There's zero chance I will be able to get this story done for this year's event, although I'd like to. I'm just too backed up. I reserve the right to write my own story based on this concept at some time in the future.

You can set your PMs up to accept them from some people, but not all. Add Simon as a 'Friend' and you'll get his messages even if you have PMs turned off.
