What do you call an aircraft carrier captain concerned for the safety of his crew?

When asked if Modly's personal attack on Crozier was appropriate, a senior defense official said Monday, "I don't know what to say."

Modly's use of the word "betrayal" is a loaded because saying an officer has betrayed the Navy is a court martial offense.

A defense official familiar with Modly's remarks offered his opinion of Modly's address, saying the acting secretary "should be fired. I don't know how he survives this day."

Carry on. Nothing to see here.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's because SecNav is the fuckin' bawss. Define "appropriate"......it's appropriate and commonplace in many units for superiors to absolutely SHIT all over subordinates for fucking up.

Everything from calling them fucking retards to threatening to fuck the soft spot of their babies head so their inferior genetics are allowed to continue degrading the human race.

I think Modly was quite civilized....he is a squiddy after all.

His prerogative, not every offense is prosecuted....maybe he just by chance used that word because it was appropriate but without the legal connotations. He's SecNav, he can shit all over and fire any of his O6's that he wants.

Ohhhhh a #RESISTANCE member doesn't know how he survives the day....but he almost certainly will.

My DI used that line on me back in the 70's, how I miss Ft. Campbell. LOL

Much better effort here^ than Luk's  in the other thread.

When you have no idea what the grown-ups are talking about it probably is best for you to just just posture and gesticulate, rather than try to participate in the discussion.

^^ Irony.

We all know you guys will rationalize anything Trump. We've seen it over and over again. This is just one more time. It's old hat by now.

So please carry on. We all knew what the reaction would be before it even hit the news. And what it will be next time. You guys don't care as long as he hates who you hate.

Pathetic.

A) Doesn't understand the concept of irony. Pro tip: it does not mean, "I know you are, but what am I?"

B) Still making same orange man bad argument despite being shown by multiple posters how this is a standard decision in the military for this sort of infraction.

C) No one needs you impotent permission to "carry on."

D) No need to restate your refuted position on the way out the door. If you are specifically stating that you are refusing to engage further than theirs no point in restating it.

E) Concern trolling only works when you're coming from a position of higher ground.

F) Your sign-off is appropriate and (on a positive note) demonstrates at least a glimmer of self awareness as to your pathetic existence.

G) Feel fee to borrow 'Tags signature slam of ///// when you flounce off "out" of a thread. Repeatedly.

You try too hard.

Yes I'll believe random forum posters over military officials. Especially posters who still have Trump's cum on their chin.

Oh, look. She's very upset; reaches deep in the arsenal and pulls out the board ""progressive's" most virulent insult: "You all so gay!"

Nothing more insulting than accusing men of engaging in homosexual activity.

Shows you what she finds most distasteful, doesn't it?

So, when was the last time the secretary of the navy pulled a stunt like that?

*waiting*

When's the last time you heard a captain of a nuclear carrier go outside the chain of command and expose the vulnerability of his ship?

So, when was the last time the secretary of the navy pulled a stunt like that?

*waiting*

Secretary of the Navy affirming the chain-of-command decision to relieve a sailor from command for violating Naval regulations is a "stunt?"

To answer your question, all the time. The fact that the left has chosen to make this a national news story that the Secretary of the Navy had to personally respond to, has everything to do with your agenda and nothing whatsoever to do with the regular order of the Navy.

Why do you stamp your feet and add *waiting* to a "thought" you just now ineffectually expressed?

So then the investigation into the captain's actions have been completed right?

The secretary of the navy (acting, pardon) went off half cocked on a public emotional rant without even having the facts in evidence.

And you dipshits support him because of Trump.

Pedictable.

But because it's anything to do with Trump, once again, it's a-okay.

Christ.

By the way, still waiting for an example of a secretary of the navy doing this.

The actions of the Captain are a matter of public record and have never been in dispute. He made his actions (and opinions) public. Thst was largely the point.

What was it that you wanted to "investigate?"

You do realize that investigate in this context means:

to search out and examine the particulars of in an attempt to learn the facts about something hidden, unique, or complex, especially in an attempt to find a motive, cause, or culprit: (dictionary.com)

-not endlessly drag out and pontificate upon a known event for partisan advantage, right?

JFC.

One US official tells CNN that Modly did not want to wait for an investigation into the matter to be completed before firing Crozier, even though the Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Mike Gilday wanted to pause and opposed the quick firing. Defense Secretary Mark Esper deferred the decision to Modly, who overruled Gilday.

Gilday, who later publicly supported Modly in a brief statement, is expected to receive initial results Monday from the investigation into Crozier's alleged failure to notify his chain of command.

Modly's actions now pose several challenges for the Navy. First, firing Crozier before a completed investigation, while not unprecedented, is problematic. Modly said he lost confidence in Crozier in part because he did not go to his immediate superior in the traditional chain of command to voice his worries.

But Modly also told reporters that his own chief of staff had spoken to Crozier and encouraged him to contact their office directly if needed. As the civilian head of the Navy, Modly essentially okayed going outside the chain of command, one defense official with direct knowledge of the case told CNN.

For someone that tries too hard, you really do fuck it up.

It's obvious you don't have a clue how the military works. Has nothing to do with Trump. You can't use TRUMP BAD for everything, can you? It's getting old.

The facts are pretty evident since lame street reported it.

No what is obvious is you want to peddle your bullshit as a substitute for the facts of the matter.

Your playing the emotional card, again, you have no clue how the military works. When you're deployed you do your job till you're relieved or told to stand down. There is such a thing as *opsec and comsec* which you probably don't understand.

Emotional would be secnav's decision to have a hissy fit at the crew because the captain embarrassed him. But then Modly told Crozier to contact his office - in essence to step outside of the chain of the command. Modly fucked it up but because all roads lead back to Trump with this - Modly even admitted he fired Crozier because he didn't want to repeat what happened with Spencer - you can't admit it was a mistake.

I'd say you can't make this up but you guys do it all the time.

Please tell me once again how I am being the emotional one while relying on facts of the matter while you stamping your feet about your anecdotal experience is the epitome of calm, cool and collected.

LOL!

All Hail the Chosen One!

I'm dying to know how Harpy could possibly know that Trump didn't have anything to do with Crozier's removal. I know that Harpy worships at the clown's feet, but I was thinking that wasn't literally so.

I don't give a flying fuck what the secnav had to say today and I don't give a fuck about your issues with TDS. Modly is part of the chain of command, the lame street media isn't. He exposed a US warship. Even if Modly gave Crozier authority to contact him YA don't do it by jumping the chain of command while deployed, you use the chain of command and at least respect the rank of an admiral and get the OK from the next level supervisor. Just because a brigade commander says to one of his company commanders *you can talk to me any time* doesn't give that captain the authority to go over the BN commander's head to discuss an issue concerning the battalion. That navy captain exposed the readiness posture of a carrier, had that been in the gulf who knows what could have happened, how bout an Iranian sub taking a crack at it. Mission first!! You still fight that carrier till relief or change of orders is provided. Without strict adherence to the chain of command you have no military, you have no discipline in ranks, breeds contempt and people die. Why he did it is obvious, that's not the point!

So, again, back to this question - you've seen the results of the investigation right?

Please keep trying to tell me how emotional I'm being. :D
