What do you call an aircraft carrier captain concerned for the safety of his crew?

I know how to placate sygn:

Sack the top brass in its entirety
and put the eloquent letter-writer in charge.

The "Army" needs men that can be all that they can be.

His letter, if you read it, points out clearly to an incompetent management of the outbreak. Unless he lied.

I'm not condoning him any longer for the way he went about it. He deserved punishment. But these two are separate issues.

Captain Crozier alerted his superiors to a dangerous situation and was advised "continue to test! continue to test!" which does nothing to ameliorate the underlying issue.

So he emails some people outside the chain of command, who can't do anything about it except tell the press and therefore enemy, that he thinks his ship's mission is compromised. Stupid fucking move. He should be thankful he isn't facing a Courts Martial.

And Reagan was an actor, the president doesn't manage day to day military ops the dep chiefs do and work hand in hand with their chiefs of staff. The president sets policy the military formulates options and backs it up.

The president is the CinC. We can remind the left wing press who thinks the President is just a figurehead that Obama fired or retired over a hundred general officers, James Mattis being one of them.

He's the kind of hero that ThrobDownSouth can really admire.
A military man bucking the chain of command to give Trump the finger.
Perhaps, like Throbbie, the Captain acted not for the best of his crew,
but to get off his ship and protect his own sorry skin...

;) ;)

...and making sure he looked good to the military hating left doing it.:D;)

Most likely chased off by those he honored with the N-word,
just to prove that he was a gracious member of the superior race.

:nods:

I said several times that those are two separate issues.

You guys should just say you don't want to go near that topic, instead of all these bullshit tactics.

They're aren't bullshit tactics.

Crozier wrote a letter which got leaked to the media.

Since when do we allow military commanders to do that?

He wrote a letter which would take several days, if not weeks, to get to the person it was addressed to instead of using the nearly instantaneous secure communications channels he has access to.

WHY THE FUCK would he choose that option?

Crozier is in command of a US ship of war deployed in potentially hostile waters during a world wide crisis. His job, no matter what the circumstances or events, is to keep his ship and crew ready for combat and follow his orders and protocols without public complaint or controversy.

ANY level of dissatisfaction by his superiors for his decisions or conduct is more than sufficient reason to remove him from his command. The military isn't a democracy. You don't get to vote on what you like or don't like. It's the military. You do what you're told by your superiors or get shitcanned.

There's a laundry list of the things he did by writing that letter.

Conduct unbecoming an officer.
Failure to follow orders.
Failure to follow protocols.
Transmission of classified information over non secure channels of communication.
Mutiny.
Cowardice.

Crozier got off lightly with just the loss of his command.

Why no ventilators for liberals Rob??

Much to your disappointment this isn't Soviet States of America comrade.

If I want to buy/rent a ventilator and hire a medical professional to hook me up....why shouldn't I be able to do that?

oh look. :rolleyes::D
Another one who explains things that everybody knows, and thinks he looks clever doing so.

You missed my point, dudly, since I now agree on This issue.
That, or you're a cultist who uses deflection tactics

Can't exactly do that when the crew is coming down with a highly transmissable virus in close quarters, now can he?

Sounding the alarm was the correct thing to do to get help and "get his ship and crew ready."

Dumb fuck

Firing him was also the correct thing to do.
