In 2009-10 80 million US citizens were infected with the H1N1 (swine fly) virus. 300,00 were hospitalized and over 17,000 died. No panic then............of course the media wasn't trying to panic anyone and every one. What's so different about this virus?
glad you asked! This is a new virus, easy to spread and asymptomatic for the majority of people under 60. It's a "sudden onset" virus, meaning symptoms occur (usually sky high fever) very quickly in geriatrics such as yourself.
You attempted a pathetic deflection to swine flu but failed to realize that the swine flu could be quarantined much easier than covid-19, symptoms were slow onset it was identified quicker and people could be quarantined. Th 17,000 died over a period of 24 months.
Trump's insistence on treating this as a public relations problem instead of a public health problem allowed the virus to get established in America. It is expected to spread exponentially now, and there is a very real danger of overwhelming hospital beds available in the short term.
So, the bottom line is....keep calling it a hoax, and try to die with dignity when you contract it.
