I'm glad Pelosi is being assertive. And, if Impeached President Trump continues to try to manipulate elections through foreign interference, or if he exhibits other forms of gross corruption, then I hope she opens new impeachment inquiries.

So, right now the situation is that about one-third of America's voters elect two-thirds of the House of Lords, er, I mean the Senate. A similar lop-sided dynamic affects the electoral system for the presidential election, which is why we have had two minority-elected Presidents during the last two decades.

Additionally, appointment of the federal justices are essentially controlled by the President and the House of Lords, er, I mean the Senate. Thus, it is a reality that during 8 of the last 20 years, the Senate, the Presidency, and the Judicial appointments have all simultaneously been controlled by Republicans who were elected by a minority of the nation's actual voters. This is what Republicans foolishly call "a landslide mandate".

Well guess what? We crashed under one of those Republican presidents and are headed for another crash under the current one. The anachronisms and faults of the electoral system need to be changed via Constitutional amendment after the next crash. We have had enough of this crap. We no longer need to placate the slave-owning states of the 18th century.
