Remember: it's no longer "President Trump" - it's "Impeached President Trump"

Sure, if by ream you mean McConnell betraying his oath of impartiality to embrace a coverup.

McConnell hasn't taken any "oath of impartiality".

Where you dumfuks get this shit is amazing.

So, basically what you're saying is that standing behind the law to prevent lawlessness is lawless?

That's got to be THE MOST disingenuous crap you've said yet.

Nope, your comprehension skills at work again. I said if McConnell thought the house rammed through impeachment on party lines and he doesn't think it has merit, shouldn't he want to prove the president innocent by running a proper trial? If he puts on a sham trial and rams it through along party lines he would be doing the exact same thing he accuses and condemns the house of doing.

McConnell hasn't taken any "oath of impartiality".

Where you dumfuks get this shit is amazing.

Oh, my bad. He's already given an oath to uphold the constitution. The impartiality oath will be part of the impeachment trial.

Name calling again. Shame on you.

McConnell doesn't have to "prove Trump innocent". Trump doesn't have to "prove" he's innocent. The House has to "PROVE" Trump acted unlawfully and that his conduct is sufficient to remove him from office.

Anything else is just more of your incipient stupidity being displayed in public again because you've BEEN TOLD THIS many many many many many (ad infinitum) times already yet you STILL refuse to acknowledge that your Demmie dreams are based on false facts and illegal conduct by your party leaders and the media propaganda blitz.

LOL, simmer down gramps!

So wouldn't Repubs want to allow Trump to have his day in court and to shed a bright and damning light on the House Dems corruption, false facts and illegal conduct? You'd want that, right?

You should be careful with the name calling. You don't have any wiggle room given your post history.

dudly, you're all over the map here.

The SENATE doesn't have to do squat if they don't want to. Continued ranting about how they "must" is just more or your TDS on display.

Further, I don't care if the Senate conducts a trial or if they dismiss - justice will be served either way.

What I DO care about is you continually pushing the lie that Trump has to defend himself. He doesn't. No one does under our justice system and Constitution.

As for the last bit of crap to fall from your lips...

PLEASE do your best, however inadequate we know that is, to try and keep up with the rest of the class.

Show me where I said "must" in my post you just quoted. You can't because you can't seem to understand what you read.

Interesting coming from an alleged attorney.

Ok, fair enough. As in let McConnell run a fair trial and let the chips fall and justice be served.

You need a new act, gramps. :)

.

So “attorney for the defense” is just a made up misleading label?

Gaslighting Crap, he didn't embrace a cover-up. Cover-up what? The President didn't break the law. The only cover-up is the impeachment itself.

Trump was given the opportunity to defend himself, and he declined. Now he whines daily how he wasn't allowed to defend himself. I guess he's deluded.

Whether you think he broke the law is irrelevant to the fact that he is still the Impeached President.

Have a nice day. :)

So was Johnson. Who was impeached for violating the Tenure of Office Act. A law, like the recently passed War Powers in Iran non-concurrent resolution that was repugnant to the constitution. That actual law was later ruled to be unconstitutional.

His impeachment had bipartisan support and passed the House with a 2/3 majority.

History has not seen that impeachment as well-founded. This hack job will indict the Dems, not Trump in the adjudication of history as I am sure you realize, your bluster notwithstanding.

Mr Nadler said in a statement that he had written to Mr Trump inviting him to the hearing next month.
"At base, the president has a choice to make," Mr Nadler said. "He can take this opportunity to be represented in the impeachment hearings, or he can stop complaining about the process.
"I hope that he chooses to participate in the inquiry, directly or through counsel, as other presidents have done before him."
As you know, Trump has done neither.

Poor Andrew Johnson. Poor Donald Trump. The only two presidents in American history to be impeached during their first terms, but beloved by deplorable nation-dividers everywhere.

My sympathies to you during your time of grief. :rose:

The Deplorables' world is imploding in steady daily increments thanks to their Cheeto overlord...and all they can do is scream impotently into the internet void hoping that mere basic bitch yap will pivot the universe towards their direction.

McConnell hasn't yet, true enough. But he sure talks like he will.

If the impeached president's impeachment is itself a coverup, lets lay it all on the table at the trial and let the chips fall.

I've been wondering, how does the senate handle Schiff if he's compelled to testify. Does his role as manager ( prosecutor ) diminish if he becomes a fact witness? I can't find any info on what happens when a house rep becomes a manager but is also so entwined in the case itself.

Now we're stooping to double entendre?:D

Well. he'd be in the company of 47 dems!

No fuckin way you can be that stupid.

Trump was impeached for cause, whether any of you think that or not.

However, if he was in the least bit innocent, he would not have his aides ignore subpoenas, refuse to testify in any manner, he wouldn't have obstructed everything humanly possible during the investigation, wouldn't have trashed anyone that did testify against him, trashes anyone that calls him out, or disagrees with him. He is absolutely in no way transparent.

Everyone testifies under oath. EVERYONE. That way it takes away all the bullshit that you morons cling to.

If they find anything on anyone, prosecute them. If they find nothing on trump, he's exonerated and instead thinking him guilty, I'll just find him a lying pos, like most of you.

and once again, this glaring fact begs the question...if Cheeto is innocent and has nothing to hide, why is he hiding his shit so much?

Why isn't he trusting in the constitutional American system that all these patriotic motherfuckers love to cock suck, dick ride and yee haw every ding donged day about?

He's an old white man with a lot of (other people's [Russian]) money sitting in the highest seat in the land and one of the top seats on the planet. The system should be working for his ass over everyone else's. If someone like him can't even trust that, you know somebody's shit is fucked up and stank in Denmark.

And one of the causes being so obvious that even the Trumpettes should be able to see it--obstruction of Congress. He's not allowing witnesses to testify (while crazily saying Congress isn't hearing any first-hand witnesses) and not producing documents, when Congress's right to both is set in stone. There's no question of the validity of the obstruction of Congress charge. It's right there for all to see. Who does Trump, McConnell, and the Trumpettes think they're fooling? No matter what happens now, it will be clear to history.

As far as Trumpettes and stupidity, they are constantly demonstrating the intersection of those here on the board. They are just trolling the board to be jerks.

Wow! you got both your brain cells working overtime today. He's protecting article II powers for future presidents, that concept isn't too far over your head! is it!! The trial proceedings are strictly for removal. Ahhh, there's that word again! EXONERATION!!

You can tell your mentor KeithD that obstruction of congress is not a crime or an impeachable offense. Article II powers afforded to the president give him legitimate power to resist congress.... Executive branch = co-equal branch of government. Now be serious! are you two going to stop peddling stupid, you're lowering everyone's IQ.

The HOUSE impeaches. The SENATE trial of the articles of impeachment decides whether the articles of impeachment AS DRAWN UP BY THE HOUSE warrant removal from office, or not.

The Senate is not in a position to "cover up" anything. Everything the President is alleged to have done is contained in the articles of impeachment and any supporting documentation that the House sends over in support of THEIR impeachment.

If something is "covered up" at this point it is because the HOUSE failed to UNcover the necessary evidence of "treason, high crimes, or misdemeanos" that would warrant drawing up articles of impeachment in the first place.
