Aussies! Check in here!

Just passing thru. Got up way too early. Even got up before the tradies next door started hammering at 6.40 am which isn't supposed to happen before 7 am.

Wild windy weather yesterday and whilst the tree branches bent they didn't break. Was taking the green bin down the driveway when I was almost attacked by the hedge in the driveway with that wild wind bending the top branches over that far. The cool change came thru by late afternoon and brought some thunderstorms and also some rain which wasn't forecasted. Was supposed to be a dry cool change.

So much cooler here in Melbourne town. Switched the shorts for the Winter gear again. Not planning to do much today except watching the cricket and probably the mowing during the lunch break plus some housework. Probably back in the garden again this weekend hacking stuff

It seems the younger generation hasn't worked out that cold stuff goes in the cooler shopping bags. If one did it, I'd say it was an individual thing, but they all do it. I was even asked by one of them if I wanted the milk to be put in a bag. Not my responsibility to teach them commonsense. So now I look for the older checkout people when I do the grocery shopping.

Well Rump keeps getting a smack down by the latest testimonies. Even a security advisor had to tell the Republicans to grow up essentially and stop spreading false news. No doubt the Reps moral compass will go missing when this impeachment stuff gets to the Senate. Kinda like Scomo trying to stop people talking about climate change cause the LNP haven't got a plan.

Interesting to see yet another fire caused by poor maintenance of infrastructure. First thing private companies do to cut costs is reduce maintenance. We've had that issue in Vic since the Lib govt of the day under Jeff Kennett sold off all the govt utility companies. First thing that happened was that the power lines in most suburbs were not being maintained which led to interference with TV signals. How do I know this? Well it happened to me and cost me the call out fee only to be told it wasn't the TV it was power lines in the street. It was a well known fact known by the trades. So I had to ring up the power company to tell them to do maintenance on their infrastructure after which the issue with the TV was resolved. Now their lack of proper maintenance is causing loss of property and potentially lives not to mention livestock. And once again none of them will be prosecuted.

The banks just can't help themselves it seems. Make profit before anything even allowing child molesters to do business and not do anything about it and blaming it on their IT. The banks apparently can't monitor those transactions but they know when you don't make a loan repayment or are late on your credit card payment. They are very fucking selective on what they do monitor. No doubt management will blame their internal auditors and throw them under the bus and I've no doubt none of the management will face any type of criminal conviction and if the do find them guilty of breaching any regs or the law they will be allowed to leave with their multimillion dollar bonuses.

We don't but bankers in jail in this country, well not as long as the Libs are in power as they have said many times the banks are a cornerstone of our economy which means they can get away with anything and the banks know it.

Hope the weekend it good for you.

Stand by on battery recycling in Victoria. I happen to know the young bloke who has spent the past three years getting it through State govt and then the councils. Its German tech, but will all be done in Victoria. It's on the radar to see how invest-able it will be, but a few handfuls of Series A funding to make sure dibs are there.

If you are on twitter, try having a look at a UK operation called Electric Classic Cars (@elecclassiccars). They convert sports and classic cars using Tesla drive trains. I could see an operation here which rips out the petrol engines and loads up with a fully electric system, or a petrol generator engine with electric drive train as a more suitable option for distances. Mazda is bringing out a new rotary engine, but it will mostly be used as a compact generator engine for electric power trains, a la Akio Toyota's well announced viewpoint of ICE not being phased out entirely until 2050-2060. All very well having all electric but if you have to join the line for a recharge and a half charge is 2 hours, those long journeys might be in days every 180-200km.

Somehow, I just can't see electric cars working here in Oz due to our distances.
No way would I be able to drive the Nullabor in an all-electric vehicle!
Can you imagine having to stop anywhere on the Nullabor in summer to charge your car? Last time I went over (Jan/Feb this year) it was 52.9 degrees on the day I drove the full distance.
Ain't NO WAY IN HELL I would have survived had I needed to stop and recharge my car for 6 hours!!!

Electric in suburbia is great - drive 12km to do your groceries and come home and charge.
Rural Australia is a no go. Our distances are simply too great.

Bring back the Camel I say! Having a motorised vehicle traversing the desert is crazy. I mean you have to carry your own petrol and deal with all that dust. I guess someday they will invest a faster mode of transport. Something that can fly that distance. Then again given all that sun I guess you could install solar charging stations and battery swap stations like the pony express using fresh horses till the telegraph made them redundant. Personally I'm waiting for my flying car :D

Afternoon all,

Had my car serviced yesterday and found a new charge on the bill called the "environmental levy" which cost me $4.90 WTF! How do they calculate this levy? And why not round it off to $5? Did catch up with some reading while waiting for my car. Was easier to wait for it in the dealership than come back home. Not the easiest place to get to. Plus they had coffee. Not doubt the cost of the coffees is included in the service charge. Thinking of buying a new car next year as mine is now 15 yrs old. Still going well though as I don't drive it much these days. I like those new touch screens and usb plug ins for music. I'm still using CD's on longer trips.

Well hasn't the Environment Minister created is his own environment. Such a smart arse is getting his arse handed to him given they didn't check if the document quoted was not a fraud. Also given it didn't come from the council website, who created it and how did the Minister's office get their hands on it? Too quick to point score and now ScoMo has mud stuck to him. However he has shown he is an arrogant person. You just had to watch him walk out of the parliament. As for phoning the NSW police, well that was another arrogant move and highly inappropriate considering it is about one of his ministers. This is something Rump would do. Seems ScoMo thinks it's ok to follow Rump's lead. The standard practice is for the respective individual to stand aside until the police investigation is concluded. The longer Taylor stays there the longer the govt will be attacked and while they are defending him, they aren't spending time governing the country. Wankers.

Purchased my first Christmas card yesterday since I was in the shopping centre to buy one of those steam mops which was on sale. Tried out a hand held steam cleaner for the tiles in the bathroom and it worked really well.

Looks like a rainy weekend coming up and more rain into the next week. A little over another month before the end of this decade. Wonder what the next decade will bring and will we get moving on climate change or just sit on our hands again?

Hope the rest of the week is good for you.

Afternoon all,

Well the Aussies are having an easy test and amazing lot of runs scored. The opposition looks down and out. No doubt the next set of tests against the Kiwis will be much different.

Had lunch with some fellow workmates on Friday which turned out to be a nice sunny day. The two of us that have retired were looking in better shape than the ones still working. And had less hassles. It was good to catch up and also know the decision to leave the work place was the right decision.

The new year will bring a new decade and no doubt some reflection on what this current decade has brought and how things have changed. One thing for certain is that wages growth will be zero into the new decade and people will spend even less and the free economy is only making the owners of those businesses rich. May be people will wake up and realize that unions are not a bad thing since it's the only tool workers have to get fair wages. But the pendulum has a way to go yet for that to happen. States are getting less GST due to people spending less. That's less money to spend on hospitals, schools, etc.

Black Friday is one US thing that hasn't taken off here. Since people are spending less there is less money to spend on major retail sales days. Boxing Day is still the major spending day.

The new 2hr parking restrictions in my street started during the week. Did get a survey for this but the only option was 2hr parking on one side of the street. No doubt some of this was due to the uni students parking in the street during the day. Lots of P plate drivers parking in the street now due to parking restrictions in the streets closer to the uni. As to why only on one side of the street well no doubt the respective objectors know someone on the council which favoured their side of the street. That's how most of these things work. If you want to know which streets the councillors live in just look for the best maintained streets in the neighbourhood. They will also be the cleanest.

Lots of rain forecast for Melbourne town this weekend and coming week but haven't seen much of it thus far.

Hope the coming week is good for you. It's nearly Christmas card writing time.

Hi aussies :)

Well, back to the topic of sex, lol

Went to the last swingers party of this decade last night..... and once again, had an awesome night! Forgot my costume for the 'P' themed night, so a frantic google search 2 hrs before ended up with me going as Pozaljiv (means 'forgetful person' in Slovenian  ) I was originally going as a peppergrinder.... but jeans and a tee worked just fine in the end.
I've ended up with a date for mid-week and another next Sat.

The more I go to - and the more I experiment and play - the more I wish I had had the balls to do this sooner! So much fun to be had, but at nearly 52, I now have a finite time to maximise my fun because my looks and my stamina are both on the downward stretch!!

I now have a couple of regular male playmates, and 2 couples, and a lady friend I see once every cpl of weeks...... I think that means I have become a 'player'
Someone said last night I should carry a dance card so I can schedule playtime, lmao

Nearly 2020, and time to begin thinking about NY resolutions, I guess.
I think mine will be to 1. be more carefree and playful in every aspect of my life (not just like above, lol), and 2. volunteer more with feeding the homeless, and 3. become more of an activist regarding issues I feel are not being addressed by our society - agitate at council and state level for action on homelessness, that sort of thing. (In a tiny corner of my soul there's a bit that gets furiously angry and wants to make a difference when I see the injustice around me. Don't tell anyone though.... I have a reputation to protect :cattail: )

This Xmas will be the first for a number of years where I don't have to either host or cook.
My son's fiance's parents have invited us all to theirs for the day.
This is a good thing, as my daughter and her fam have recently become vegan. The rest of us are omni. Depending on which way I would have gone re the Xmas lunch menu I would likely have upset someone, either way! My daughter said it would also prove which kid I loved more
But now it is totally out of my hands......phew!!! Dodged a bullet there!

Morning all,

Had my last medical appointment for the year yesterday. No more specialists till after the first quarter of the new year. So now till the end of the year I can cut loose a bit.

Now that I've lost all that weight not only do I need to get new clothes but also all my rings have to be resized. Another task for the new year and possibly an expensive one.

Only the dentist visit to go but I do get to have chocs afterwards if everything is ok. Good that the choc shop is just across the road from the dentist.

Not doing much in the way of Christmas shopping this year. One thing I have noticed is the lack of Christmas stuff apart from decorations. The Black Friday thing is still going. It seems the Christmas present worthy stuff comes out later and later each year.

Hope the rest of the week is good for you. The windy week continues here in Melbourne town. Lots of stuff flying around the place.

Afternoon all,

Just looking at the latest info from the tragedy in NZ in the North Island. People going on a cruise don't expect to get involved with a volcano eruption. A sad time for their families coming into Christmas. Apart from the ones that are deceased lots more will require ongoing treatment. Obviously questions will be asked as to why the trip went ahead given there were warnings days prior to the eruption.

When I was in the Bay of Plenty it rained for most of the time. Only did the bay cruise. Nice area and very dependent on the tourist dollars. An easy drive from Auckland.

Much cooler here in Melbourne town and the cool change brought with it high winds. Did some damage to an arm of the canvas awning I have to help reduce direct sun in the kitchen. It is rather old but don't want to replace it since I'll be selling up hopefully next year. Purchased a roll of Gorilla tape so will see if that works.

Was going to do some work outdoors this morning but it started raining so decided to stay indoors. Unlike the tradies next door, I'm not getting paid to get a wet arse. Plus the wind has also picked up during the day. So video games was the ticket.

Got up on the roof on the weekend to check on debris coming from next door. Was surprised how clean the roof was given all the construction works going on next door. Found some tile debris from the dickhead roofer smashing roof tiles rather than doing the right thing. Basically all the tradies lie about their actions when you question them. Has been an ongoing pattern since the demolition. I've just taken it for granted they will lie to their masters about what happens on site.

Got all my Christmas gifts so haven't been caught up in the Christmas shopping. However I am looking at replacing my stereo since one of the speakers is on the fritz. Cheaper to replace the whole system then repair the speakers. My current stereo has a tape deck so it is very old but has severed me well. Also looking at getting one of those sound bars. Find it quite annoying that I have to raise the volume on the TV to play a movie.

It is interesting that now pollies are thinking about climate change due to Canberra and Sydney being blanketed by smoke. Did fuck all whilst it was only the country folk being impacted. Lots of talk by the govt that people should move from bushfire prone areas. Obviously those statements don't apply to people living in the cities close to bushfire areas. Good luck moving Sydney! Guess ScoMo will pray on that. God's to do list is getting longer.

Hope the rest of the week is good for you.

Morning all,

Rainy day in Melbourne town even though no rain forecast. Hot week coming up so my beer run I did on Friday was good timing.

Was surprised that Boxing Day sales are already happening. Must be a reaction to the poor sales figures thus far in the FY. Purchased a new stereo and a sound bar. The sales dude was rather clueless but I did my own research so not really a problem. Overall I saved over $300 so that was good. Haven't used a sound bar before so that will be something new. I mentioned the multi-CD turntable to the sales dude and he said he's never seen one. Shows the vast gap between the generations in regard to knowledge. If it's not on the smartphone it never existed.

One good thing about the Christmas period is that I won't get woken up by tradies in the early hours of the morning. The build next door has mainly gone to inside trades. Can't wait till the build is finalised as it should be the last of them in the street and the quiet of the day will return. Lots more people in the street now though so the battle for car parks spots in the street will only get worse.

The light rail is up and running in Sydney, so not long now that people will start complaining about it. Since I live in Melbourne, riding on light rail is not something I'll be seeking out the next time I'm in Sydney which will be next year.

Hope the coming week is good for you. No doubt lots of Christmas work parties will be happening this week as people go on leave.

Interested to know which sound bar you got, been thinking about it.

Worked in consumer electronics (sales) for years and I hear ya on the multi cd. I went to two stores with my Son as he has just built a house, the first guy was brilliant and the next guy was useless. First had plenty of product knowledge and was extremely helpful, the second didn't listen to a word we said and kept trying to sell us stuff we didnt want.

As for the rail, they are already saying it's faster to drive lol.

Hey Summie,

I purchased the Yamaha model which has an inbuilt subwoofer so no need for a separate speaker. The model is the YAS-108. Mainly purchased it to use when viewing a movie as I've found that I have to raise the volume rather high when watching a movie from a DVD. Also the TV is rather directional when watching a DVD or playing video games so the sound isn't central like when watching a normal TV show. The sound compression we get thru normal TV watching is lacking when you watch a DVD or playing video games.

I remember that different TV channels would have different volumes so raising and lowering the sound was annoying but that seems to of been eliminated with the newer TV's.

If the Yamaha sound bar had not been on sale I wouldn't of spent that type of money on it. The normal price was around $350, I got it for $160 which was under my budget for that item. When ever I see anything Yamaha I see lots of dollars attached to the item so this was a good bargain. It seems the lack of spending this year is really impacting retail to shift product so there are lots of bargains to be had.

I saw a news item that the light rail broke down the day after it was launched. So not a good start given it was overdue and way over budget. Hopefully the company isn't from the northern hemisphere where they don't get hot Summers. We had that issue when the Libs were in govt which led to trains not running on days over 35C since the air cons couldn't cope. The new Labour govt fixed all that and the overall PT has vastly improved under their watch. The Libs just went for the cheapest option which led to massive issues on our PT in the Summer months.

Afternoon all,

Went to my dental appointment yesterday and since I was a good boy I purchased some chocs from the shop over the road. Spent $68 on chocs and also purchased a Japanese style cheese cake which I've never tried before. Was a nice sunny day in the afternoon after a cloudy cool rainy morning. Rain was not predicted. Lots of people in the city doing stuff.

Just saw the news on the latest bushfires. It's quite ironic that a bushfire is near a coal mine. A case of the chickens coming home to roust carrying hand grenades. They are worried about the coal catching fire which is funny when you think about it.

As other parts of the country have experienced, we here in Melbourne are getting some high temps this week. Friday will be the worst, but thankfully nothing like Perth had and Adelaide will get this week. We are further south so it won't get that hot here for now. Mid Jan and Feb will be a different story. Expecting an extended Summer like we got at the start of the year which is now normal for us. Won't cool down till late April. Have a few painting tasks to do but given the longer Summer there is no rush on doing those tasks.

Hope the rest of the week is good for you and try to stay cool.

My parents in law are visiting from overseas and staying with us for 6 weeks. Still have 4 more weeks to go. I'm trying to be as good host as I can but somehow it's still not enough for Mrs.
Its been more stress than fun for me but I guess Mrs is happy.

never will be enough, and sometimes, partners show frustrations due to their internal stress, rather than what you are doing. They just channel it towards you. Picking your time is important when asking what else you can do, and careful wording on that question is also vital. If all else fails, there's always the pub. Alcohol may not be the answer, but then , maybe its the wrong question. Seriously, good luck, think we have all been there.

My advice as an older dude these days is pick your battles. Don't worry about the small stuff that annoys you. Also what may have helped is having a chat with the Mrs when you first found out about the in-laws visiting. Don't forget it's your house as well. But don't be afraid to set your own boundaries such as not letting the father in-law drink your expensive booze or sit in your normal chair.

Could always take the kids on lots of drives if you have any. Encourage your Mrs to show her folks around town while you do those jobs around the house she has been nagging you about. Just find reasons to make space and time for yourself. That's why most men who golf are married dudes. It's fuck all to do with golf more about getting away from the wife and kids for a short period.

I've got an older brother who has been told off by his son in Qld that the longer stays are now not an option. Who wants visitors for several months even if they are family, not me.

Main thing is stay calm. As the saying goes..."marry me, marry my family" which doesn't mean you have to give away your own identity.

Afternoon all,

Well the cool morning in Melbourne town has turned to oven like conditions outside. Just brought in the bins and washing, then stepped back in the house and felt the massive drop in temp. Thankfully my place stays cool for longer even on hot days. A lot of modern homes don't stay cool due to the way they are built.
Also since most people these days are building double storey mansions with virtually no green stuff the bedrooms are going to be hot and stuffy.

ScoMo is getting a roasting over his holiday which was rather poor timing. He's been refusing to answer questions about climate change before he left and now it's worse cause of the optics due to most of country experiencing record heat and lots of the place is on fire. At least Nero stayed in Rome when it burned. He didn't fuck off OS so he didn't have to deal with it. Granted Nero did light the fire, then again ScoMo did fuck all when those fire chiefs wanted to talk to the Libs about this earlier in the year.

We do get high temps in Melbourne during Summer but the temps in the 40's normally happen later in Jan and in Feb. I don't remember seeing all States and Territories on the mainland being impacted by high temps all at the same time. That shit is not normal. Nothing will change till city folk have fires in their streets by which time it's too late. Might at well become mole people cause the surface is going to be too hot to live on. Good luck Santa trying to find your kids then!

May be at the next election city folk will finally wake up and do what's best for the country and not their wallets.

Have setup the new stereo but now the table looks too big for it, mainly cause the new stereos are smaller. It's plenty loud so no issue there. Couldn't use the old sub-woofer so that's going as well. Tried using the usb then discovered I have to convert most of my music files to MP3 for them to play on the stereo. So I've been doing that for a few hours today. Found a quick converter on-line and it's free so bonus there.

Expecting a dry cool change tonight in Melbourne. As was the pattern last Summer, a number of the cool changes didn't bring rain which is another thing that is not normal for Melbourne. We used to be guaranteed wet stuff with the cool change. Not now.

Thoughts with those families that lost loved ones fighting those fires. Given the fire fighters are all volunteers we are asking a lot of them to put their lives on the line for free. That can't continue. ScoMo's comment that the fire fighters want to be there is such crap. Once again he is not in touch with what is going on. Nobody wants to be out there fighting those fires. But not to worry we will have a surplus so the accountants will be happy and that's what counts right? So long as the well off keep making money all is good. Here's a thought how about we get some bankers on fire trucks. They will all suddenly develop bone spurs no doubt and a note from the Treasurer saying they hurt their boo boo.

Hope the weekend is good for you and that you managed to find a cool spot somewhere.

Happy Christmas!

With Christmas just a couple of days away, I thought I should come in and give my Xmas greetings today as the next few will be a bit busy :)

Eat, drink and be merry..... and remember, Christmas calories don't count!

xxx

On the homeward leg. I declared this year I wasn't doing any entertaining. Hasn't stopped the kids from declaring the place the party venue most days, but the whole Christmas/Boxing Day events thing has been successfully hand balled to those that needed to take a turn. The freezer out back is full of fish and crayfish that have been caught over the last month or two, so if people do pop over I can always put a snapper or something into the pizza oven. Or take some dough out of the freezer and whip up some pizzas.
36 on Christmas Day, otherwise a week of 30, so nice and cool to just hang out. Beach mornings, pool afternoons and if the washing basket only shows bikinis and boardies for the week I will call it a success.

Afternoon all,

Had an issue with the PC today. Thought my year of replacement was going to continue with the PC hard drive dying. Used the boot disk and all seems to be working again. Thankfully I made a boot disk several years ago. Buying a new PC at this time of year would be rather annoying. Will see what the new year brings.

Christmas Day here in Melbourne town will be pleasant with 28 being predicted. Not so in the north of Victoria. No doubt the fire fighting will continue thru Christmas and a Christmas for those impacted by the fires will continue to be difficult.

I've been watching cricket since I was in primary school and I've never seen a game cancelled due to poor air quality. Bad weather sure, but not air quality. Santa won't be happy that he can't see thru the smoke haze.

Thought I had the conversion thing to mp3's resolved but it didn't totally work so it's back to basics. Still have a big stack of CD's that I purchased many years ago so that's the backup option. Hooked up the new sound bar yesterday and gave it a run with the video game console and also with the Star Wars movie last night. It was amazing sound. It's like I've been deaf all these years. Used the 3D surround option and it was like being in a movie theatre. So am rather pleased with the purchase. Next step is to use it with a DVD. When the viewing over the festive season turns to crap, I'll give it a go.

Off to visit one part of the family tomorrow and also get my usual Christmas treat of hand made sweets from a shop near by and get some for my mum. Still have one member of the extended family who awaits Santa, and since I'm a good great uncle I spoil her with sweets at this time of year. The one rule I have is that if the gift isn't wrapped she can have it before Christmas Day. So I make sure most things are not wrapped.

Will be driving on Christmas Day but only staying within the city limits this year. The city centre is rather quiet on Christmas Day so expecting an easy run since I have to travel across the city a couple of times. Looking forward to the feed and that I don't have to drive 3hrs to get to lunch . The extended family doesn't believe in the big family gathering anymore on Christmas Day. It's seems to be more a modern society thing than a cultural thing.

Hope you all have a good Christmas Day and that you find some time to relax and basically veg out for at least part of the day. I'm always happy when I get back home and can relax on the couch and get the shoes off and get a proper drink. Since I'm always driving on Christmas Day I only have the one drink.

Well now that you've advertised that you've got free crays don't be surprised if you get lots of visitors. It would be like me advertising I've got single malt scotch, not saying I do ;);)

Have a good Christmas:rose:

Well This was a week to forget

Evacuated on Friday ( I live at Cudlee Creek ) and finally got back Monday.
Thxs to all the volunteers that worked their collective butts off protecting properties, and yes mine is fine.

Went for a drive to Lobethal yesterday as I decided I should spend my money with local business rather than on the way back up. The devestation is shocking, I really have no words for it. So many properties destroyed, vineyards, stock just terrible.

Now we have Smoko (Scomo's new nick name) here. He now states there will be no change to the climate change policies, hello what planet do you live on? I really do wish that during the last summit they removed the loophole that allows you to use past credits (nice accounting trick) to affect your climate target. Without them we would fail miserably.

I wish all a Merry Xmas, will be off to my Sons brand new house and share with the inlaws. Daughter in law is due Jan. 7th when I become a Grandpa for the first time. So still a lot to look forward to. Today on Xmas Eve, doing my normal and putting platters on the bar for all the locals, smoked salmon, smallgoods, cheese and pate with olives etc. Will be an interesting day with people sharing their stories and tears

Enjoy all.

Enjoy all.

Hey Scummie,

Sorry to hear about the fires in your area, but main thing is that you're safe. Having the house still standing is a bonus. Hope you managed to get some enjoyment on Christmas Day.

Well I wouldn't get your hopes up with the current govt. They still don't admit there is a problem so nothing will happen. The quiet Australians will continue to be impacted and lose their homes.

Hope your new year's will be better.

Evening all,

Wasn't expecting to be on the PC today but decided to see if it was still playing up and yep it failed to start again. When I did get it rebooted, decided to do a reset which then resulted in the loss of some programmes. Taken most of the day to get some things back, but also lost my email software since it isn't supported by Win 10. Trying out a free software package.

Been watching the cricket whilst dealing with the PC. The Aussies did well after a shaky start. Was good viewing.

The Christmas lunch yesterday was good. Went for the oysters first then the other stuff. Even had two rounds of dessert. Was a warmer day than the temp would of suggested. Took my mum for a drive to a couple of the places we used to live. I've lived on both sides of the city. One of the places we didn't recognise anymore. One of those places is now a Coles and the entire block has totally changed. Well we did live there in the late 60's so would expect that things would of changed.

Today was still on the warm side even though the temp has been in the low 20's. Rather humid though.

With all the weight loss I've had this year. I decided to see if the old suits would fit and surprisingly they did. They were the first suits I purchased with my own money which was in my early 20's. So I've turned the clock back about 35 years weight wise. Body still feels old though. All my business trousers are also too big now so they are going to charity or to my brother. Yet more money to spend on new clothes.

Seen a couple of things I want before the new year plus another trip to Bunnings for paint stuff. Got my Dan Murphy's card in the mail so Thunderbirds are go!

Hope your weekend is a good one.

Christmas Day was warm over here, but has been relatively cool in the early 30's since so not a hard life.
No crays left. There turned out to be quite a crowd yesterday show up, so the fish and crays went into the pizza oven and then used a lot of the fish to make up a big pasta to keep the mob fed. So no food, no beer, a couple of bottle of wine left and not a great deal of anything else. So much for a no shop week through new year.
The boys have said they might go out on the boat on Saturday so perhaps we might get restocked yet. Cheeky buggers, they take a Cobb oven with them so I think the choicest fish go straight into the boys. There have been a couple of sharks prowling around their crayfish spot so they might earn their sneaky meals this time. I figure there is a bit of a crowd saying they are heading over on new years eve, so either that or I am up for a big shop in the next few days.
