House Impeachment Hearings

So this corrupt prosecutor was investigating Burisma, and you're saying that investigation was not warranted? Even if that were true, there's the appearance of impropriety.

Hey, if the Bidens don't have anything to hide, why should they worry? They could just show up and testify about what happened and why.

Right? ;)

Trump knew his corrupt administration was going to be pilloried in 2020. He needed someone....ANYONE...to start an investigation into the presumptive front runner for the Democrats, Joe Biden.

That would allow the rabid Trump fan base (Ish, AJ, Gavager) to bellow 'see? both sides are being "investigated" ! Politics are usual!'

Sondland just confirmed under oath my theory above.

There did NOT have to be ANY actual investigation, Ukraine just had to ANNOUNCE an investigation

This would allow Trump to use this "news" to deflect attention away from his own corrupt administration

Really?

According to you, Bolton usurped the authority of the US President and you're not having ANY problem with that? Why aren't you calling for an investigation, or prosecutions, or Congressional hearings over it?

Perhaps it's because like just about everything else you spew, it's a lie.

Probably why he was fired.

His real bribery/extortion, as Vice President of the United States, to withhold one billion dollars in foreign aid if the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating his son's company, Burisma, wasn't fired. A demonstrable personal gain.

That old Fox talking point?

That’s already been looked into several times with no indication or evidence the Bidens profited/gained from the corrupt prosecutors firing, which was done as a broader anti-corruption move (not just Burisma) with the international community’s backing and for national/international interest, not personal gain like Trump did.

That is not what he said. He said the purpose of the public announcement requirement was because the President expressed an understanding that Ukraine had made a lot of promises that were never carried out. He felt that if Ukraine made a public announcement it would be more likely they would keep their word, ostensibly I suppose because they could be publicly shamed for non compliance.

Wait, wait...

Are you trying to say that Trump is STILL withholding the aid to Ukraine?

Because I, and the rest of the world, was under the impression that he DID release the aid.

Comedy is dangerous. Keep you day job.

No, it was probably warranted.

Could be, but this has been done and dusted even though Trumpers are trying to make it a thing.

After today, I think it's safe to say that Pompeo is a Dead Man Walking.

aaaaand...Sondland is now implicating Pence. (Mother will NOT be pleased).

Bribery and Extortion everywhere and nobody seemed to give a God damn.

What bribery and extortion?

this is what i've said... the previous investigations into the bidens already showed nothing, nada, zilch, but trump needed that public announcement to embarrass his political rival and affect public support for him as a candidate in the 2020 race.

sondland is saving his own skin... has probably done a deal to spill all he really knows for leniency in his own corruption, lying in the behind-closed-doors testimony

trump rules by fear: fear for their jobs, fear for their standing; fear of losing the benefits of these. that never engenders loyalty, just self-preservation. sondland's not about to take the fall for trump.

More bullshit.

PLEASE READ the comments under Griffin's tweet at https://twitter.com/JenGriffinFNC/status/1197188642567004161 . It seems as if Starr was quoting Schiff and saying that this is what SCHIFF believes.

You can also read Starr's real opinion HERE.

You lie. You can't read, and you didn't listen to the Ken Starr video. He was quoting the words of Adam Schiff, you big dummy.

You know the Republicans' backs are against a wall when their own counsel attacks the "reliability" of Sondland's testimony, the same witness who was trying to make a distiction between a Burisma investigation and an investigation of the Bidens, which was an obvious attempt to get Trump off the hook about a personal political agenda against the Bidens.

The Republicans really don't know what to do at this point. That is obvious from them lurching from one strategy to another. Now, because they just attacked Sondland's reliability, they have sacrificed Sondland's argument to shield the President, while at the same time strengthening the case for an Article of Impeachment based upon obstruction of Congress. Sondland provided ample testimony that his "recollections" are obstructed because he is not allowed by the State Department to access much-needed documents.

This means that either the State Department will now be forced to produce these documents, or it will put the Republican Senators in the position of going on record as approving a President's withholding of relevant information during an impeachment proceeding.

I love watching the Republicans paint themselves into the corner.

Lol...and the house of cards crumbles. It must really suck when the 2 individuals the Republicans thought were going to win the case for them, instead fry them.
