Whistleblower

Close but no cigar!

"Articles of impeachment were introduced against five of the six Republican presidents who have served since President Dwight D. Eisenhower."

Ford was just a fill in so wasn't a thread to them or their ways.
Ford wasn’t elected.

I read something on Twitter that sums the whole impeachment case up nicely.

"Republicans want us to believe that everyone willing to testify under oath is lying, and everyone who is unwilling to testify under oath is telling the truth."

THAT is how insane they are.

Well, when you don't actually have a leg to stand on . . .

Dude!

You are crazy sounding enough on your own without using twitter for information!

That's not information, it's an observation.

And you're the last person who should be worried about someone else sounding crazy.

If you want to be in a conversation,
you put on your big boy pants...

I'm more than willing to converse. It's usually better over victuals than vitriol, but if what's being served is best sauced with bile, then I'm willing to make them eat it. Pretty dress or no.

Fuck 'em. If they can't keep up with the rest of the class then they deserve to drop out instead of cluttering up the place with their cast off old shoes and hairy backsides.

Apparently the whistleblower doesn't want to testify in private or public. Schiff has blocked him from Nunez's witness list (along with Hunter Biden).

So, now they're going to impeach the President without even calling the prime "witness" to testify? Or allow the President to call witnesses of his own to rebut the allegations?

Kangaroo court is the best description of what's happening in the House and I think the Senate intel committee needs to subpoena someone...

If the shoe was on the other foot you’d be shouting that the whistleblower’s identity doesn’t matter. Which it doesn’t. What follows does and is.

As we are often reminded, the whistleblower is not a witness. Look at the quote marks you used, and realize that even you don’t believe he’s a witness.

First you guys cry that the Whistleblower was not a "first hand" account, remember that? He wasn't even on the call!

Now he's the "prime witness."

Care to explain?

The phrase "to rebut these allegations" is key. Shiff will allow that. He won't allow "witnesses" i.e. propagandists of irrelevant conspiracy theories.

Whenever they use quote marks around a word that hits the mark, it means they're hedging their bets cuz they know they can't or they don't possess the balls to go all in on their conviction. :D

also, an opinion aggregate page from "Mad World News" from almost a month ago?

As has been explained many, many times, this is not a trial. There is no cross-examination. This is the investigative and evidence gathering stage, interviewing witnesses, taking depositions. These are the cops and prosecutors preparing the case.

Does anyone accused get to confront or cross-examine witnesses at the police station in your town even before charges are filed?

The Trial will be in the Senate where Moscow Mitch will be able to stack the deck however he chooses, or at least to the extent Roberts allows him to.

Allowed to attorney representation and miranda.

You should keep your snark down to less than a half a dozen words because any time you extend beyond that, your stupidity shows.

The scare quotes are obviously because the "whistleblower" (who does not meet any of the criterion for being a whistleblower under the relevant stautes) like Taylor, did not witness anything at all. He merely was the conduit to convey gossip that began by someone sharing classified information with him when he was not authorized to hear.

He is a fact witness to that crime as well as Schiff's perjury when Schiff lied about his role in creating this latest fictional impetus for yet another attempt to oust Trump.

A false witness is still a witness.

Stupid analogy. In your analogy, Schiff would be then guilty of leaking grand jury testimony.

You know what is analogous? Previous impeachments and impeachment attempts. None of them had to resort to this style of tortured analogies to justify borrowing some processes a ailable to a criminal defendant while selectively committing others.

How about they run this like an actual impeachment peoceeding?

So that the sleazebag Trump and his sleazy minions can illegally destroy a true patriot and his family for pointing to possible government (Trump's government) malfeasance? It was two levels of government Inspector Generals who checked this out, deemed the malfeasance charge credible, and officially pursued this. It's against the law for the president and his minions to be pursuing the original whistleblower (whose charges have been supported by a whole bunch of government witnesses in congressional interviews).

^^^

Everything you just posted is bullshit. 50 U.S. Code § 3033 constrains only the Inspector General, applies only to the Intel Community, and grants no authority against the foreign policy of the President or his conversations with foreign leaders, dummy.

Nothing testified to to date constitutes a violation of law by the President.
