Whistleblower

All while Biden was shaking them down to protect his son's new windfall.

He openly bragged about his quid pro quo and Democrats call that
a proper function of statesmanship and diplomacy...

Nice try this shift of focus. 🙊 Funny, but it won’t work. Last night’s elections are a pretty clear signal of where folks are at when it comes to Trump and his defenders post whistleblower.

It has the socialist all very excited I'm sure.

Ya'll may yet get your totalitarian communist god state micromanaging everyone right down to their very thoughts.

Nothing more American than that!!!

DEFLECTION!!

No it's pretty point blank.

We don't owe the Ukraine shit.

I never said we owed them anything. I'm pointing out the double standard.

The State Department labeled the charges in Solomon’s initial article about Yovanovitch “an outright fabrication.” Later, the Ukrainian prosecutor Solomon quoted as his source, Yuri Lutsenko, was dismissed from his position and disavowed Solomon’s reporting, saying that Hunter Biden “did not violate anything” and now said that his statements to Solomon about a do-not-prosecute list were false. Lutsenko is now under criminal investigation for abuse of power. Meanwhile, the effort to extradite Firtash to face corruption charges continues.

When the scandal broke about Trump and Ukraine, uncomfortable facts emerged about Solomon that cast a new light on how he came to write his articles. Solomon admitted that he had used Lev Parnas to arrange his interviews and serve as his translator. Solomon also sent his work in draft form to Parnas apparently for vetting. Parnas, along with his associate Igor Fruman, worked closely with Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal attorney, on the Ukraine intrigues, and were reportedly trying to alter the management of Naftogaz, a Ukrainian gas and oil company, to obtain lucrative contracts. Parnas paid Giuliani $500,000 for consulting on his company called Fraud Guarantee while Firtash paid Parnas through DiGenova and Toensing as “a translator.” CNN reported on the scale of Firtash’s financial support for Parnas:

Joseph DiGenova and Victoria Toensing, associates of Giuliani, surfaced as Parnas and Fruman’s attorneys. They are also the lawyers for Dimitry Firtash, who was revealed to be the source of the original disinformation about Biden, which Firtash’s attorneys delivered to Giuliani. Then, Politico disclosed that DiGenova and Toensing are Solomon’s lawyers as well. Solomon gave them at least one of his stories fully in draft form before it appeared (he says for “fact-checking” purposes), unsurprising since they orchestrated his sources. Solomon claimed that he met Parnas through former Congressman Pete Sessions, a Republican from Texas, who had accepted campaign contributions from Parnas and Fruman, and did their bidding in writing a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo demanding the dismissal of U.S. ambassador Yovanovitch, who was an obstacle to the Giuliani scheme against Biden. Giuliani gave Pompeo a packet of Solomon’s articles in the effort to instigate Yovanovitch’s firing.

11. In May 2018, Bob Cusack, editor in chief of The Hill, notified colleagues that you would be “busy with our video initiatives, but effective immediately when he writes for us, it will be as an opinion contributor.” What precipitated that demotion? More recently, were you fired from The Hill?

Many other great questions and info in that article.

If we don't owe them anything and it's just whatever then there is not so much a double standard as generic partisanship.

Dude as long as it's a lefty there is NOTHING off the table, and if you're to the right of Mao there isn't anything you can do that they won't demonize.

Don't kid yourself.

Apparently Trump is guilty by association of those who associate with those who are associates of the ones who are actually revealing what's really going on that the media isn't interested in finding out about and/or letting anyone else know about either. Or something like that.

Don't kid yourself.

In my opinion ambassador Yovanovitch was mistreated and probably deserve an apology. How can you contrast Joe Biden's political intrusion into Ukraine's affairs as benign and Trump's as an impeachable offense. Biden's admission of Quid Quo Pro is public and blatant and very indicative of a conflict of interest, maybe not criminal but certainly doesn't pass the smell test. I read Solomons findings. It's hard reading. It's hard to find criminal intent but Biden did peddle influence. If the prosecutor had something and Biden forced the firing then 5 or more statutes were possibly violated. How being a presidential candidate and a possible co-conspirator give you immunity from an investigation is nothing short of hiding behind a political majority. Horowitz and Durham need to shed some light on this crap. The Obama admin is up to ears in this shit. It just seems like you can't get past speculation. Comey was referred for prosecution and yet nothing?

There seems to be a possibility of a Hobb's Act violation in the case of Biden:;

"The Hobbs Act prohibits actual or attempted robbery or extortion affecting interstate or foreign commerce "in any way or degree." Section 1951 also proscribes conspiracy to commit robbery or extortion without reference to the conspiracy statute at 18 U.S.C. § 371.

The extortion offense reaches both the obtaining of property "under color of official right" by public officials and the obtaining of property by private actors with the victim's "consent, induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear," including fear of economic harm."

Comey may get a second look in the coming FISA abuse and Durham investigations.

The release of the Yovanovitch transcript proves she did not say what Schiff said she said. There was no affirmation of a quid pro quo. Yovanoitch had every reason to expect being replaced by the Trump administration, especially when she was openly bad mouthing the President to a foreign government.

The transcript released by Trump, trumps every opinion, impression, or recollection, the Deep State denizens want to trot out.

You're just as pathetic in parroting as your opposite party partisan talking point regurgitator twin, Rightguide.

There is nothing generic about this brand of partisanship and there is a double standard. When laws only apply to one side for similar acts committed by both sides, that is a double standard. It has nothing to do with owing anything to anyone. It's obvious there is a sickness in our politics, the left have gone off the scales and they
'do' have quite a following and I sometimes wonder if they're not winning the battle. I guess if they demonize then demonize back. Competing against wealth distribution, inter-sectionalism and government intrusion gets more difficult every election cycle.

That's a great article.

Kind of incredible how these right wingers keep pushing these bullshit conspiracy theories.

My my my...Victoria Toensing at the center of yet another scandal (see also: Valerie Plame). What a surprise.

Agreed. Excellent fact-based article.

They have quite a following because the right isn't much better.

It is generic partisanship, the RW has it's own double standards and hypocrisy...especially when it comes to economics vs. social ideals.

That's right demonize back, no reason to play by any rules when they aren't.

This is a discussion board you fucking idiot!! Your fake contrarian views are pathetic! Lighting a match at both ends doesn't make you any smarter than anyone else. You should start a thread all to yourself and spend the day arguing with yourself and see if you can figure which one of you's is the stupidest!

If you believe that you know the identity of the whistleblower, then you have been consuming Russian propaganda.

I didn't absolve either party from sin!

I think a pandering media has stacked the deck. This impeachment case being a constitutional political process while competing against a slanted media is the equivalent of putting a 500 lb lineman on the other side of the line. As the process works its way through I'm sure it will shake out in the 'BAD MAN'S' favor, but at what cost.

I've always been in favor of letting the chips fall where the may in a fair, legal process. If you do the crime you do the time, no one is above the law. But when I see the full weight of an admin ( while in power and after ) using government institutions ( DOD, FBI, NSA ) to undermine an opposing campaign, depose a duly elected president, that in my opinion, is not your generic type partisanship, that's a coup d'etat by party.

I disagree that there is anything remotely generic about this partisanship, although there are two sides with equal vitriol towards each other, it's the media that becomes the wild card, the left because of a majority is using an impeachment process in concert with a slanted media to shape public opinion. They used that tactic in 2018 and won back the house even though the Mueller report was pretty muted. If it works again we may just get that anti-american, progressive leader in office.

If you're trying to find out who the whistleblower is (despite that not being a point of anything anymore--we're way beyond that and Trump and his minions have admitted to all of that already), you are lawless and a piece of trash.
