GOP getting scared - they just stormed the impeachment hearings.

As your ilk is known to say, elections have consequences. Republicans do the same crap, buttercup.

Benghazi!

Also, that’s a lot of checks and asterisks. 🙊

Update: According to a press release released yesterday, here’s who was part of the Brooks Brothers The Farce. Those marked with asterisks are on committees conducting the inquiry, so they’re basically complaining about a process they’re a part of. Those marked with checks were around in 2017 and voted for a rule holding that such protests on the House floor (to say nothing of inside HPSCI’s SCIF) were a violation of House Rules.

13 of those pulling the stunt serve on the committees they were pulling the "you're not including us" stunt on and have full rights to sit in on the hearings and ask as many questions they want as any other committee member can.

This isn't how the Republicans did it on the Benghazi hearings held in the very same SCIF when the Republicans held the House.

Two-faced Republicans (and board Trumpettes).

Yep. I couldn’t recall the exact number off the top of my head, but it’s nearly third of folks that participated.

No shit, retard. They can't leak transcripts because they aren't allowed to have them. The Chairman has sole power to leak and to punish unauthorized leaks fo the proceedings.

glad you admit that the republican grandstanding was bullshit 😎

Witness interviews for Nixon, Clinton even by the dipshit Trey Gowdy during Benghazi interviews - they were almost all private.

Gowdy "The private interviews almost always produce better results".

FFS deplorables - have some tiny modicum of pride and consistency.

It's not grandstanding bullshit. They are denied copies of transcripts and recordings, never done before. The hearings are in secret, never happened in history. Impeachment Inquiry is being held in a SCIF, never happened in history. Republicans cannot call witnesses, never happened before. Chairman makes his own rules, never happened before.

Republicans showing that they cannot be trusted, happens all the time.

The same RWCJers whining about "secret hearings" and "star chambers" this month will be speaking out of the other side of their mouths next month when public hearings are held "but...but...SHOW TRIALS"!

I'm going to go on record and my dude BotanyGovernmentMooch will be leading the charge.

Why would there be impeachment hearings?

Why would members of congress be holding "blind" meetings on a topic as serious as impeaching a sitting president? In USA history have members of congress ever held impeachment hearings without a vote on whether or not their is an impeachable offense? The reason for not wanting anyone to know what they are doing is because what they are doing will not stand up to light and they know it.

There are several papers that have been written on what the House can do and what the rules governing impeachment are.

Schiffty Schiff et al are NOT following the rules. Failure to follow the rules of impeachment investigations and proceedings makes the "investigation" unconstitutional and therefore void ab initio.

All the D's have to do is follow the rules. That's it. You'll have to ask them why they aren't doing that.

Uh, no, I listed two examples in post 76, to which you responded with deflection and gibberish.

You are the one who is unable to refute OR own up to your Partisan Hackery

No...you didn't. You made some shit up, drew a false equivalency and then ascribed me a position.

Your inability to point out any specific hypocrisy or partisanship on my part isn't a problem on my behalf.

Maybe suck less next time you decide to say something retarded.

One of the Fox talking heads usually four square behind Trump said he read the house rules and Schiff is absolutely following the rules and has actually opened the proceedings to three committees instead of just one, as he could have done.

Moreover, the rules he’s following were made by Republicans in 2015 and singed in by Boehner.

Yeah, Harpy is just lying on the rules issue. Channeling Trump.

What I'm wondering is that if you're good with the D's going off the deep end and not following the Rules, why are you so against the R's in the Senate doing the same?

Goose meet Gander.

The Dems are following the House rules-- you just don't happen to like those rules, and apparently no one in the Republican Party has actually filed a lawsuit regarding alleged violation of rules.

As far at the Senate goes, if they make up rules that warrant a lawsuit, one would probably be filed.

Meanwhile, forget about the goose and go back to chokin' your chicken.

Making up bullshit about process is all they got.

Trump is a lying criminal and got caught and the interviews are matching the whistleblower's charges.

Yes, and maybe they think if they string out the process long enough with stonewalling and grandstanding protests, they will engender sympathy from the public for another lame Trump argument, that the impeachment inquiry detracts from "getting things done."

Working toward a self-fulfilling prophesy.

After Republican members of the House literally stormed the gates of the impeachment hearings on Wednesday, Judge Andrew Napolitano stopped by Fox & Friends Thursday morning to deliver a harsh wake-up call: Democrats are just “following the rules”—rules written by Republicans.

“I read the House rules,” Napolitano said. “And as frustrating as it may be to have these hearings going on behind closed doors—the hearings over which Congressman Schiff is presiding—they are consistent with the rules.”

“They can make up any rules they want?!” Brian Kilmeade replied

Speaking more slowly, Napolitano told him, “Well, they can’t change the rules, they follow the rules.” He went to explain that those rules were last written in January 2015 when Republicans held the majority and the Speaker of the House was John Boehner.

“The rules say that this level of inquiry, this initial level of inquiry, can be done in secret,” Napolitano said, effectively dismantling the primary talking point of both Fox News and the Trump White House. “Secret evidence doesn’t work in this world, so eventually there will be a public presentation of this,” he added, “at which lawyers for the president can cross-examine these people and challenge them.”

“Secret evidence doesn’t work in this world,

Really?

Grand Juries?

That 'secret' court The Shrub set up.

Cases including evidence and testimony kept 'under seal' even after the case in closed.

How many times do we read of lawsuits settled but terms 'undisclosed'?

LOL, and another RWCJ talking point goes up in smoke.

And NOTHING is being done in "secret".

Every Republican on the appropriate committees are in the witness interviews. They are merely private to avoid more of a circus than it already has become.

And then, of course, the GOP goes and drives a clown car into SCIF. Lead by pieces of shit like Gaetz and Scalise.
