I’m just going to say forty million, same as the fruitless investigations into Benghazi and the Clinton’s private server.Anybody know how much that investigation cost the taxpayers?
If you say it loud enough you sound really quite atrocious...
You seem confused. I'm not surprised.
They actually can't afford not to. The spectre of political prosecution looms large in all of this.
Instead, they will forgive the sinners this time and enact rules and policies to try and prevent it from happening again in the future. The issue there will be how close to McCarthyism can they go without it actually being or smelling like McCarthyism.
So are you saying that as long as an investigation appears to be political, actual violations of federal law are forgivable and shouldn't be prosecuted?
One thing to remember about McCarthy is he was right, there were communists in the State Department working for the Russians. His zeal in seeking them out was the problem. He had his fans as well, Robert Kennedy made him the god father of his children.![]()
Right now the political landscape is in turmoil. It's almost a full blown riot. The rioters aren't going to stay quiet if they have a talking point they can shout through the megaphone of false light portrayal.
When ideology overwhelms society, law suffers because the only thing that matters is the agenda rather than truth.
I don't think as a nation we can forgive these crimes without trashing our principles of equality before the law. These transgressions are insults to the law itself. I think Barr has to restore confidence in the DOJ and the FBI. Sweeping this all under the rug will pretty much destroy the Constitution and public faith in the integrity of their government institutions. It means this kind of thing will happen again. At least the half of the population that still gives a shit about America aren't going to accept a whitewash.
An attack on the law is an attack on the Constitution and the Judiciary itself, and the Judiciary should be the very first to notice. I wonder what the Chief Justice is thinking about his management of the FISC.
You would think so, but then take a look around and see who's jumping up and down in outrage.
It's over and done. There is no political or social will to prosecute the genesis actors.
I think Barr has to restore confidence in the DOJ and the FBI.
Sure, it’s totally more damning than the evidence of felonious activity offered by the Mueller report. The Democrats, some never-Trumpers, and Deep state actors (Wray), are jumping up and down but I doubt that Barr can come back and say Durham, Huber, and himself found noting of consequence, when prima facie evidence of felonious activity is already in the public domain and after Congress itself has sent criminal referrals to the DOJ for several people involved. If you're right, Americans can forget about the Constitution and surrender their sovereignty and franchise of self government to the administrative state, because it's over.
I should have stopped reading at ‘I think.’ Either that or you have a better sense of humor than I’d previously thought.
Sure, it’s totally more damning than the evidence of felonious activity offered by the Mueller report.
"The AG's report is going to fuck these people."
"OK, the next AG's report is going to get them."
"Well the NEXT report is definitely going to do it."
"Benghazi!"
Oh, yes there is. There were several dozen charges of criminal activity made, for which there is evidence of attempted obstruction of justice, and some of those were felonies. You should have read the Mueller Report. There was zero evidence of felonious activity therein. Lots of Democrat misunderstandings, characterizations, and false interpretations of law, in order to cover their three year bullshit campaign, however.![]()

No prosecution means no crime, no collusion.
He's innocent.
It might take him all weekend just to decipher and digest what you told him.
Gulp gulp
