How is this possible in Zumi's racist America, much less the racist South? :confused: It's almost like Zumi's insistence that the failure to thrive in some portions of the black community being attributable to systemic racism is simply a made-up excuse. Maybe those white folks Nowisthetime mean-mugged for no other reason than the color of their skin and presents in a Mexican food restaurant we're not as racist as she assumed based on nothing more than their skin color. Maybe Rory is wrong that some magical cracker benefit imbues to white folk because of the color of their skin.

I wonder if we as a society would be better off if we simply judged others by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.

I wonder why other people don't do it. I am using the royal we. It's how I was raised. It's why I didn't find myself in Catholic school with the majority of white kids n the deep south when I integrated an all-black school as the first class of whites to do so. It's why I am perfectly comfortable living in the barrio. It's why nearly half of my dalliances have been with women of some skin tone that is different than my own, since it isn't a sorting criterion for me. Ditto personal friends and of those I have worked with employed or been employed by over the years. It is why none of my current nearly daily interactions with people of color who are disproportionately found amongst the more impoverished than not people I work with devolve into the nonsense spouted by the artoon "backs" on this board. They notice that I am animated and fully engaged with them as ordinary people and respond in kind. If they hire Arbor the kind of racist ideology that imbues them with the Despicable attitude that I have somehow been handed my meager existence through no hard work of my own but simply the color of my skin they tended to keep that to themselves. I assume that they think I'm one of "the good ones" or, more hopefully. They, like I, were raised appropriately that people are people and you shouldn't assume anything about anyone based on nothing but the color of their skin.

I have to remind myself while I'm out in the real world each day that this nonsense that exists here on the general board does not reflect the reality that I see out there. Most of this is the detrius of a despicableo get-out-the-vote narrative for 2010. The idea was too angry at black people and get them to the polls when it's well-known through historical data that blacks vote in lower numbers especially in non-presidential elections and they needed to turn out in 2010 or Obama was going to lose the house. He lost the House by a landslide they still have not recovered all of those seats. Democrats lost a total of a round 1000 public officials over the deeply unpopular Obamacare. They did it anyway because they understood that the ratchet effect of government benefits. You can always give more but you can never take them back.. And they're still hammering the same racist tropes now. Frankly, I am not just offended, I'm deeply disturbed.

They aren't going to get me to take Busy's approach of coming back.over the top, or JBJs resignation that blacks are inferior because that is not my experience.
