Con artist deflects from question about illegals he employed

“I don’t know because I don’t run it,” Mr. Trump said when asked if he was confident that undocumented immigrants were no longer working at his golf courses. “But I would say this: Probably every club in the United States has that because it seems to be, from what I understand, a way that people did business.”

Funny how it's his organization, with his name on it, which he runs, and yet he doesn't know if one of his failing properties is still employing illegal immigrants. It's almost as if he doesn't know anything about what he does.

After the revelations, the Trump Organization said that it had begun to use E-Verify, an electronic verification system that checks documents provided by new hires against Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security records to identify fakes, at all properties. The same month, dozens of undocumented workers were fired at clubs in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., Pine Hill, N.J., and at the Bedminster club.

As he was about to step onto Marine One to head to the Bedminster club on Friday, Mr. Trump seemed to indicate that the Trump Organization had strengthened its hiring processes to ensure that they were no longer employing undocumented immigrants.

“But we’ve ended — whatever they did, we have a very strict rule that, those rules are very strict,” Mr. Trump said, standing on the South Lawn.​

You've ended something you didn't know about? How does that work? If you didn't know before, how do you know now?

Also, if, from what you've heard, it is common practice for those golf clubs which make money to employ illegal immigrants, why haven't we seen ICE agents raiding these clubs? Surely, if what you've heard is true, and you're supposedly tough against illegal immigration, wouldn't this be a good place to look for those illegals and deport them?

Eric Trump, who along with his brother, Don Jr., took over management of the organization, said in January that hiring undocumented immigrants was a sign of the United States immigration system’s failures and that firing the employees was distressing.

“I must say, for me personally, this whole thing is truly heartbreaking,” Eric Trump said. “Our employees are like family, but when presented with fake documents, an employer has little choice.”​

Of course it's the fault of the system, not the employer. The employer has no say in who it hires. An employer has to accept at face value whatever document is given to them. There is nothing the employer can do to verify the person is legally allowed to work in this country. It's all the government's fault.

You gotta love it when Mr. "I Know Everything About Everything" goes into one of his Sgt. Schultz default modes anytime his hand is caught in the cookie jar. Find someone else to blame every single time. Claim innocence.

The "But everyone does it" is a new one, but he would have had more credibility and earned extra brownie points from his red hatters if he'd worked in a way to also accuse Obama, Hillary, and "The Deep State" too.

Um, point of order there, Eric. Are you seriously trying to shift blame to the immigrant employees for the "fake documents" that YOUR OWN COMPANY helped them acquire? Or did you just conveniently forget that little part of the story?
