Yeah, I wasn't expecting that to hit me like it did. Very pleasant surprise and I regret not seeing it in the theaters directly if I'd known I'd enjoy it like that.

Sometimes it feels like they've already made these types of movies before - and they have - so you're bullish on them at first. Then you watch them and you realize somebody actually flipped the script on some subversive shit instead of relying on the same old tired recycled ideas, also-ran tropes and clichés for the quick money grab.

The sequel's out next summer, by the way. ;)

this not being at work thing feeels weird and kinda lazy. but i've managed to read 2 hardbacks (one of them dr sleep) in a few days and there's time to read more. and make a big chocolate/fudge cake with vanilla buttercream frosting with grated dark chocolate... and the chicken and ham and mushroom shortcrust pastry pie...

hmmn, better get to splitting wood and outdoors stuff - when it's not raining or freezing cold *snuggles down*

2019
pretty shit so far
sorry to hear that :rose:

our 1st has been pretty wonderful here, family and friends, people reconnecting after many many years, the grandbabies (not so little now) and poopies, of course.

my belly hurts still from laughing so hard last night at bedtime when H decided to put on the silly xmas outfit his bro and sis-in-law gave him yesterday when they got over here... dressed as a bedecked chimney breast complete with tinsel, 2 mini red xmas stockings (that looked like weird nipple cozies), and flashing mini lights... dancing with the lights off and bedroom curtains open, lights flashing... yes, we do still have neighbours but the standard lamp is still recovering from its impromptu role as a stripper pole :D

who says romance is dead?
