If the President declares a national security emergency on the border and orders the military down there to repel an invasion there isn't much the courts can do about it. He can identify tactical areas of operations and declare martial law in those areas. He has plenary constitutional power to defend the nation and power delegated to him under 8 USC 1182 f to halt all immigration if necessary.

But if someone from Central or South America (not Mexico) makes it to a US Port of Entry, they have the right to ask for asylum. That's the law - the law the Republicans have refused to change. The Republicans are the ones encouraging mass migration. And BTW, they aren't "illegal" if they ask for asylum. They are acting lawfully.
