I agree. I’d pity her that she felt the need to sell herself to what I assume was the highest bidder so to speak. But I don’t really know her story, this is just my preconceived ideas.

I'm surprised to see their judgment, in a culture in which women are at least just as, or more materialistic than hers regarding choice of partners.

Yes, money was a huge factor, and it probably helped her close a blind eye to the huge age difference.

But otherwise, why not? Trump has a certain charisma, magnetism which draw you in, and a good sense of humour. I loved watching the Apprentice.

Besides their campaign promisses, Obama and Trump weren't elected just because one is racist and the other one is black. They are both striking pubic figures with a certain charisma.

He's not Prince Charming physically, but his personality is powerful and charismatic.

I especially liked the fact that he was a non-conformist and didn't do the disingenuous PC bullshit.

I was listening to one of Josh Rogans podcasts, in which his guest commented that it was precisely that quality which made him attractive to blue collar workers and immigrants. He said that because they are outside the mainstream, these two categories are often more suspicious of theoretical, flowery rhetoric coming from people who don't usually mingle with them.

Of course that was a year ago, before I was put off by his comments about African immigrants and shithole countries and his tax plan catering for the 0.01%

Considering what was said about Michelle Obama this thread seems very tame.

Especially since Melania chose to pose nude and semi-nude and all Michelle did was suggest kids have a healthy diet.

It reminds me of one of the mistakes in communication that I used to do when I was younger - not bothering with explanations, as if people could understand where I'm coming from. Two people can behave in the same manner for entirely different reasons.

I made up my mind from day one that I wasn't going to make fun of Melania (and yeah, you can call that a "feminist thing" if you want— I'll own it). It's not her fault her husband's a douchebag.

I guess maybe it is her fault that she married him. Although it has occurred to me of late that maybe she's a KGB agent. . . that would at the least make a great novel, and they say fact is stranger than.

I regard the fun-making as somewhat light-hearted as I have no visceral dislike of Melania.
