haha. Well, let me share about the "poster" in the background of the couch picture. When my son was 3, he started to develop a fascination about space and the weather patterns on other planets. The reason is because he heard the term "Jupiter monster storm" and believed there was a huge powerful monster, living on Jupiter, creating a big storm. So he decided this monster lived in a volcano, was a kind of bull like monster, but with a single horn like a unicorn, and this horn was really really massive. So I found a png of a bull like monster with a large single horn, copied and pasted the horn over and over to make it massive, then inserted this monster into an art scene of a desolate area, with a volcano, and a storm, and added some magical lightening png images, and printed it, thus creating a poster of the jupiter monster. That Christmas (not this past, but the prior), when we went to visit, he asked Santa to bring him the storm from Jupiter. So while every mom was trying to track down hatchanimals, code a pillars, and air hogs, I bought a solar system model, and a plasma ball. then painted the plasma ball to resemble pictures of jupiter, so the ball would serve as the "storm".
more interesting than diaper boxes and antifreeze (which by the way, we don't buy here....we buy "coolant")?

and in other randomness. We got a call from a Canadian Investigative Journalist two days ago. Ok, backstory, from about 2007 until I was pregnant in 2012, one of my husbands best friends, we will call him Bob, lived with us (there was a little break roughly in 2009 and 2010). In 2009 and 2013 to 14, he lived with our best friend couple (the journalist also called them). In 2015, well he committed an exceptionally brutal, complete overkill, pointless, confusing and completely out of character murder and then 2 days later when the cops pulled up to serve a search warrant, walked out his back door, and well, ate his 45.
It was a very troubling time for his family, our friend circle, and our family. My husband's best friend, close to all of us in varying degrees, he was my son's favorite adult next to us. Every time my son saw a truck that looked like his (which side note, was originally our neighbor's until Bob bought it from her), my son would get excited thinking it was Bob. Every time we mentioned a Bob or Bobby, my son would think we were talking about him, and get excited that he must be coming over. Every time the group got together, my son would expect Bob to be there too, and ask why Bob wasn't there. Thus the shock and sadness would hit the whole group like a wave again. My son was 2 and a half, so I chose to lie to him, and tell him Bob moved very far away, was sorry he couldn't say good bye, but he was so far that he would never come back. Each time, I would have to reexplain, remember he moved far far away, and won't be back etc etc.
So anyway, I guess journalist is looking to do a video episode for some crime show in canada as it nears the 3 year mark. Not sure if he called Bob's mother too, though hubby is going to visit her in May. Same with not sure about the victim's family. Our initial reaction, as well as the other couple's, was of course we absolutely do not want to be one of those dumbass people on TV saying "he was nice, we had no idea" etc etc. But now as I think, I had come up with a theory to answer the why and what happened, that seemed to be the most logical, and was accepted by the circle as the most likely, but we will never know. Well, except if I told this journalist my theory, I bet with his contacts, knowledge, and lack of feelings to the emotional well being of those involved, well, I bet he could prove or disprove my theory in a day. So a definitive answer to why closing any doubt, or completely disproving thus leaving the "why" a fact that died with him. Also, opening a can of worms that everyone avoids discussing and has moved on from as best as they can, obviously some more than others.
anyway, so other than a monster works schedule of projects and normal domestic shit...this has been my week. yeah, my life really does just hand me bizarre shit.
