long time. :rose:

people you're going to miss?

Yes it was.

For all of their individual idiosyncrasies they weren't horrible people. Even as much as I've had my fill of them, working for them was rewarding on many levels. I certainly could not be in this new position if it weren't for all that I learned during my time with them. They presented a wide spectrum of tasks available for me to learn and do - my hand prints are all over that company. Honestly, I am finding it easier to set aside my irritation at those idiosyncrasies since I am no longer in the midst of it and they aren't mine to deal with anymore. I don't think "miss" is the quite the right word, but then I don't know what is. I am appreciative of my time there and I am grateful I have been successful in extricating myself from it.

i need to find something to do beyond watching some assholes subscriber count dropping in real time, but i'm just too lazy today. also, i can't decide what game i should play and i already jerked off.

so reading tweets and taking joy in others failings is what i'm doing for the time being.

Don't Believe Everything You Hear On NPR
(Alternatively: Don't Believe ANYTHING You Hear On NPR)

NPR retracts a story that did not meet its standards.

MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST:

Now, we need to tell you about some mistakes made by NPR in a story that aired last week. We reported about a man who says he spent $100,000 to have things that were written about him removed from Google search results.

AUDIE CORNISH, HOST:

NPR has retracted that story because it did not meet our standards. In the report, we referred to one individual as the author of a website that another person said had posted defamatory information about him. We also described the author's motivation as vindictive. But NPR did not contact the alleged author, and upon review, NPR cannot say for certain who the author or authors were or what their motivation was.

KELLY: In fact, in court proceedings, the people cited as the authors were only identified by initials, and we have not been able to establish their identities. In addition, our account made it sound as if the website targeted a single individual. That website, though, included information and commentary about at least 12 other people. The reporting mistakes we made substantially undercut the story and have led us to remove it from NPR's digital platforms.

Here's a question for you: What percentage of people who heard or read the original report heard or read the retraction?

Do you realize that, for someone who proclaims to dislike and not trust NPR, you read a lot of NPR?

This weather is not allowing me to work on my suntan. I’m going to look like a tourist out west.

While I appreciate the advice people around me are giving me on my situation.....give me something will actually work!!! Nothing anyone has suggested so far has worked!

Sometimes, it's better just to listen and be there while I whine, complain, cry or scream.

Brits have to wait until October for season three of The Expanse which started in the US last night. And they wonder why people use torrents.

Well, I had my knee drained and gel injected in it.

2 weeks and the left one gets done.
