Climate continues to change.

Now that I see how severe the problem is I'm filling up the ice cube trays in the freezer to get me through the coming apocalypse.
Good for you.

Now, if you take the lowest and highest data points from the graph, you get from -0.50 in 1985 to +0.87 in 2016. That is a span of 1.37 (1.4 in significant figures). Consider raising your body temperature by that amount and you would have a fever of 38.4, or 101 Fahrenheit. Also consider that the average surface temperature of the earth is about half of your body temperature, so the effect of the increase would double. Now your fever is over 103. You're going to need more ice.

So the Pentagon is in cahoots with all those corrupt climatologists bought-off by the Chinese? Sad.

A parasol would help more. Protect you from the stormier storms and sunnier meltdowns. Also, invest in ice-cream makers. Demand will be high.

Now there's a reliable source if ever there was one— NOT !

It has Been The Hottest Decade For Almost 11,000 Years

(easy to claim, impossible to prove,
i.e., pure fiction)

ROTFLMFAO

Christ, you're gullible.

PROVE IT !

I doubt it would matter to you if he did.

I happen to like science and the scientific method. I've spent a lifetime analyzing data and evidence in an effort to separate fact and objective truth from bullshit. I know bullshit when I see it.

Fixed your post, douchebag. :)

Hey, you dumb sonofabitch. Did I say I believe it? No, I just posted it to watch your had pop off from your neck.

It worked.

ROTFLOL!

Four years of me explaining it to you and you still do not understand significant figures. You don't determine what the significant figures are by looking at a graph it goes all the way back to the confidence interval of your actual instruments.

No shit, huh. I have a level of confidence in my eyeballs that I can read that graph to two significant figures. Are you saying it isn't accurate to two figures? Trysail seems to think it is.

I'd ask you to do the math yourself, but I'm pretty certain that you don't know how.

Wow. The thermometer was only invented 400 years ago...

Lizard people, man. Fucking lizard people.
They're still here. We see the Republican-Reptilioid conspiracy:

1) Global Warming: Terraform our planet to Reptilioid comfort levels.
2) McFood: Fatten the human herd to feed our lizard overlords.
3) No Net Neutrality: The Internet hypnotizes us to accept our fate.

Remember: Hotter oceans mean more bouillabaisse.

When is the next ice age ?
The climate record shows the planet has flipped into an ice age in only a few decades. IIRC projections show melting icecaps (due to more energy in the hydrosphere) will change global ocean currents. Shift the Gulf Stream, and Europe could ice-over very quickly. Seems like it's tipping-point stuff.

Our hydrosphere is a big, complex system. Without it, we die. We've already mucked it up a bit. How far can we go? What world do you want for your grandkids?

Oh, you want a prediction? It starts 22 June 2078. Look it up.

Shamelessly stolen from Mike Rowe:

If I said I was skeptical that manmade global warming was going to melt the icecaps, that doesn’t make me a “doubter of science.” Once upon a time, the best minds in science told us the Sun revolved around the Earth. They also told us the Earth was flat, and that a really bad fever could be cured by blood-letting. Happily, those beliefs were questioned by skeptical minds, and we moved forward. Science is a wonderful thing, and a critical thing. But without doubt, science doesn’t advance. Without skepticism, we have no reason to challenge the status quo.

Religion resists tests and corrections. Science is self-correcting, eventually. New understandings and data make models ever closer to reality.

Science is inherently skeptical. The plate tectonics hypothesis was ignored for decades, and for good reason. Same with many models that overthrow older theories. But one doesn't build a scientific career by rote acceptance and conformity. Question and overthrow the old to gain fame and fortune.

BTW "the best minds" have known of Earth's roundness for about 2500 years and heliocentrism for about 500 years. True, the universe is much weirder than we've imagined, and we learn more constantly, which is why the ignorance of previous centuries isn't really relevant now.

Our understanding of climate change leads to the question: How long can you tread water?

EXACTLY!

Blind acceptance in either polar view is nothing more or less than religion. And is absolutely worthless.

My polar view is that climate changes (thank God!). Without climate change we would be microbes at worst, or maybe smart dinosaurs.

Ice age in 50 years? Maybe. Maybe not. Nothing we can do and nothing we did can change that. Go along for the ride or get off.
